A Full-featured ASP.NET Core Data Service Web API with Launch Hosts of IIS, IIS Express, and HTTP.sys
Introduction The main structures and data access parts of the data service Web API are based on my previous article with updates of the ASP.NET Core version, breaking changes in code, and new or extended features. Most topics, such as general configurations, multi-layer data access related processes, publishing website projects, etc., won’t be repeated in this article. Please see my previous article for topics described there.
Multiple Column Sorting: from Angular NgExTable to Source Data List Management
Download NgExTable_AspNet5_Ng8_Cli.zip - 104.7 KB Download NgExTable_AspNetCore_Ng8_Cli.zip - 140.9 KB Download NgExTable_Scripts_Ng8_AnyPlateform.zip - 94.4 KB Download ApiDataServices.zip - 384.8 KB Introduction My previous article, Client and Server-Side Data Filtering, Sorting, and Pagination with Angular NgExTable, describes the base structures and uses of the custom data grid tool.
Angular Breadcrumbs with Complex Routing and Navigation
Download Breadcrumb_AspNet5_NgCli.zip - 92.8 KB Download Breadcrumb_AspNetCore_NgCli.zip - 138.7 KB Introduction The UI structure of the breadcrumbs on any serious website looks simple. But the underlying code logic, operation rules, and navigation workflow are not simple at all due to related routing complexities and navigation varieties. This article will demonstrate a sample application with full-featured breadcrumbs and discuss the resolutions of implementing and testing issues.
PDF Document Display and File Downloads with Angular, AngularJS, and Web API
Introduction Displaying and downloading PDF documents are important features of web applications. What interest developers the most on this topic are the various processing scenarios and browser compatibilities. This article provides a sample application and detailed discussions on the topic in respect to legacy, evolved, and up-to-date technologies and web browsers.
Angular Data CRUD with Advanced Practices of Reactive Forms
Please Sign up or sign in to vote. An Angular sample application that includes selecting, adding, updating, and deleting data with HttpClient service, reactive forms for object and array types, in-line data editing, custom input validations, and various other features. My previous article provides a sample application and discussions for comprehensive CRUD operations with AngularJS 1x and Web API. I have re-written the sample application that works with the Angular 4.3 and above.
Client and Server-Side Data Filtering, Sorting, and Pagination with Angular NgExTable
Showing an Angular sample application using both client and server-side data filtering, sorting, and pagination approaches to access data with the fully configurable NgExTable. My favorite data grid tool ngTable in AngularJS has profound client and server-side sorting and pagination features with its object. The ngTable performs well in our enterprise business applications. I also wrote the articles using the ngTable for the data display and the CRUD sample applications.
ASP.NET Core: A Multi-Layer Data Service Application Migrated from ASP.NET Web API
Showing a full-structured data service sample application migrated from ASP.NET Web API 2.0 to ASP.NET Core 2.0 MVC and also describing the various issues and resolutions. I have recently completed the work on moving the ASP.NET Web API sample application, SM.Store.WebApi, to the ASP.NET Core 2.0 MVC data service application, SM.Store.CoreApi.
An Angular 2 Modal Dialog with Advanced Functionality and Easy-use Features
An Angular 2 Modal Dialog with Advanced Functionality and Easy-use Features Presenting an advanced modal dialog service re-written in Angular 2 from the Angular 1.x version plus demonstrating the dialog uses and issue resolutions in details. Upgrading a web application from Angular 1.x to Angular 2 involves re-structuring and code re-writing processes.
A Generic and Advanced PDF Data List Reporting Tool
Many business applications need to export the data lists to PDF files. Since the PDF components are physically rendered on document pages, the best practice of obtaining a data list in PDF format is to directly generate a PDF data list report with the help of a PDF rendering tool. Uzi Granot shared his excellent and lightweight base PDF rendering class library, PdfFileWriter, with the developer’s communities.
A Global Error Handling, Logging, and Notification Class Library for Data Access Web API
My previous articles describing the server-side pagination and CRUD data operations contained a full-structured Web API sample application. However, the code doesn't include some auxiliary components, such as the error handling, logging, and notification system.
Comprehensive CRUD Operations with AngularJS and Web API
One of my previous articles shows accessing and displaying server-side paginated data sets with AngularJS and Web API. I here extend the topic and enhance the sample application with the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete) data operations. Although the new sample application and discussions in the article mainly emphasize adding, updating, and deleting data, reading data should always be involved in loading and refreshing data sets before and after data changing processes .
Returning Multiple Result Sets from an Entity Framework Stored Procedure with Function Import Mappings
Returning multiple result sets from a stored procedure has been supported since Entity Framework (EF) 5.0. However, the approach of mapping configurations for the feature using the EF designer has not been available even from EF 6.0. MSDN only posted limited instructions on the topic of returning multiple result sets with simple entity types. Any business data application more or less needs to retrieve multiple result sets of data from stored procedures to avoid multiple calls.
An Advanced and Easy-use AngularJS Modal Dialog
Updated the modal dialog compatible with Angular 1.5x and TypeScript. Also providing an example to open a dialog in the component controller class. Update Notice: The updated NgExDialog has been added here to work on web applications that use the Angular 1.5x components and TypeScript. Please see more descriptions in the new section inserted to the end of the article.
A Custom Model Binder for Passing Complex Objects with Query Strings to Web API Methods
A query string having field-value data pairs is the standard form of transferring messages in a URI, or a request body with the default content type. The latest Web API 2 and ASP.NET MVC 5, when using query string data sources in a URI or request body, only support passing a simple object which consists of only primitive, non-class, or type properties.
Server-side Data Filtering, Sorting, and Paging with AngularJS, trNgGrid, ngTable, and Web API
Server-side data filtering, sorting, and paging are not a new topic, even in the AngularJS world. Many AngularJS grid tools are available nowadays but very few decent samples can be found using a grid tool for the server-side pagnated data set like using the jqGrid in JQuery. This article presents a sample of a pure HTML 5 and AngularJS SPA website implemented with a search module for data filtering and two AngularJS grids, trNgGrid and ngTable, for requesting and displaying the data.
