1 Introduction Acute pancreatitis (AP), one of the most common acute inflammatory digestive diseases, is characterized by rapid progression and high rate of adverse clinical outcomes (Mederos et al. 2021). Pathophysiologically, auto-digestion of pancreatic tissues and resultant pancreatic edema, hemorrhage, and necrotic injuries elicit local and even systemic inflammatory responses, thereby leading to multiple organ dysfunction and even failure (Lankisch et al. 2015).
