Research Highlights • Intraprocedural tissue immunofluorescent assay (IFA) was investigated in patients undergoing thermal ablation of colorectal liver metastases to detect residual viable tumor cells after ablation. • For 155 ablated tumors in 99 patients, biopsies were performed of the ablation zone and of the margin, and evaluated for cellular morphology and mitochondrial viability.
