Palladium-Catalyzed Heck/Suzuki Tandem Reaction of (Z)-1-Iodo-1,6-dienes and Organoboronic Acids
The Heck/Suzuki tandem reaction has emerged as an essential strategy for the synthesis of complex molecules. Herein, an efficient palladium-catalyzed Heck/Suzuki tandem reaction of (Z)-1-iodo-1,6-dienes with organoboronic acids is described, providing various tetrahydropyridines in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. The key to the success of this approach is the avoidance of the intramolecular second Heck insertion occurring prior to the transmetalation step.

Pd0‐Catalyzed Asymmetric Carbonitratation Reaction Featuring an H‐Bonding‐Driven Alkyl−PdII−ONO2 Reductive Elimination
Research Article Dedicated to Professor Matthias Beller on the occasion of his 60 birthday Graphical Abstract A Pd0-catalyzed asymmetric carbonitratation reaction between (Z)-1-iodo-1,6-diene and AgNO3 has been developed with the use of [PyH][BF4] as H-bonding donor under the toluene/H2O biphasic conditions, which provides a complementary method towards alkyl nitrates with high enantioselectivity.

Palladium-catalyzed C-H activation of simple arenes and cascade reaction with nitriles: access to 2,4,5-trisubstituted oxazoles
Palladium-catalyzed C-H activation of simple arenes and cascade reaction with nitriles: access to 2,4,5-trisubstituted oxazoles An efficient and straightforward protocol for the assembly of pharmaceutically and biologically valuable oxazole skeleton is achieved for the first time from readily available simple arenes and functionalized aliphatic nitriles. This transformation involves palladium-catalyzed C-H activation, carbopalladation and tandem annulation sequence in one pot.
Efficient synthesis of isoquinolines in water by Pd-catalyzed tandem reaction of functionalized alkylnitriles with arylboronic acids
A palladium-catalyzed tandem reaction of 2-(cyanomethyl)benzonitriles or 2-(2-carbonylphenyl)acetonitriles with arylboronic acids in water has been developed for the first time. This reaction features good functional group tolerance and provides a new strategy for the synthesis of diverse isoquinolines under mild conditions. The use of water as the reaction medium makes the synthesis process environmentally benign.
