Associations between baby swimming and preschooler child intelligence quotient: a cohort study
Abstract Baby swimming is a widely practiced early childhood healthcare activity, but its long-term health outcomes remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate whether baby swimming participation during the first six months of life is associated with intellectual development at preschool age. Children from the Wuhan Healthy Baby Cohort who completed follow-up questionnaires at 1 and 6 months and intelligence quotient (IQ) assessments between March 2022 and November 2023 were recruited.
Air pollution, road traffic noise, residential green space and hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease trajectories
21 hours ago Influencer Madeleine White shared her "traumatic" birth story in a new TikTok video on Wednesday, July 1. Madeleine, 30, explained that she was diagnosed with gestational hypertension while she was pregnant, and experienced a placental abruption and preeclampsia in labor. She began the video while …
Recent advances in nucleic acid-functionalized metallic nanoparticles
Recent advances in nucleic acid-functionalized metallic nanoparticles Nucleic acid-functionalized metallic nanoparticles (N-MNPs) precisely integrate the advantageous characteristics of nucleic acids and metallic nanomaterials, offering various abilities such as resistance to enzymatic degradation, penetration of physiological barriers, controllable mobility, biomolecular recognition, programmable self-assembly, and dynamic structure-function transformation.

Frontiers | 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid alleviates lipopolysaccharide-induced intestinal mucosal injury through anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and gut microbiota modulation activities in chickens
1. Introduction The intestinal tract is not only the main organ for the digestion and absorption of nutrients in animals, but also acts as an innate barrier to maintain body homeostasis (Vancamelbeke and Vermeire, 2017).
β-hydroxybutyrate administration improves liver injury and metabolic abnormality in postnatal growth retardation piglets
1. Introduction Growth retardation (GR) is when an individual grows significantly slower than a healthy individual, accompanied by metabolic disorders, systemic inflammation, or intestinal dysbiosis, usually occurring in the early stages of life (1). Growth retardation can be divided into two categories: intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) and postnatal growth retardation (PGR).
Subcellular localization of DNA nanodevices and their applications
Subcellular localization of DNA nanodevices and their applications Xia Liu,†ad Shuting Cao,†ad Yue Gao,ad Shihua Luo,c Ying Zhuabd and Lihua Wang *abd Abstract The application of nanodevices based on DNA self-assembly in the field of cell biology has made significant progress in the past decade. In this study, the development of DNA nanotechnology is briefly reviewed.
DNA framework carrier with asymmetric hydrophobic drug pattern for enhanced cellular cytotoxicity
DNA framework carrier with asymmetric hydrophobic drug pattern for enhanced cellular cytotoxicity Yan Zhao, Linjie Guo, Shuting Cao, Mo Xie, Hongzhen Peng, Jiang Li, Shihua Luo, Lan Ma and Lihua Wang Abstract We devise a class of amphiphilic drug complexes by programming hydrophobic drug patterns (HDPs) on DNA frameworks. We investigate the effect of HDPs on cellular uptake efficiency and drug potency.
