Wanted to drop in here and say hi. I look forward to chatting with you all about trap!!!
Father's day gift ideas?
On my way into work this morning, I listened on the radio to the hosts discuss various father's day gift ideas & thought to myself : alas- no one is ever going to discuss anything that has to do with trap which is what i live and breathe!! So I thought we got to help ourselves (and our families) by making it easier for them!! lol On the radio, they suggested different ideas at different price points, so looking for suggestions that we might drop a hint to our loved ones- at different price...
We Are Excited to Sponsor This Shoot!

As part of our support for youth shooting programs, we are pleased to be the lead sponsor for the Texas SCTP State Championships. Every shooter will get a custom cooling towel with the Texas SCTP logo.
Saturday at a Shoot at a Great Club with a Great View and a Bunch of Great Kids!
I was invited to attend the SCTP Shoot at Santa Ynez Valley Sportsman's Club and setup our SightTrax Vision table. As you can see from the pics below, the club has an absolutely phenomenal view of Lake Cachuma which is the reservoir for the City of Santa Barbara. The Santa Ynez Valley is a prime grape growing region and also features the famous Danish village of Solvang. The club has been there for decades and the membership has always been welcoming. The shoot was well attended.

Aaron here. I've been shooting sporting clays and bird hunting for the past 10 years or so and now my oldest son is getting to the age that he wants to start shooting with me (and my 2nd son is close behind). Very exited about this and assume will get me out busting clays more often than usual. I look forward to hearing peoples input on firearms for the boys and training techniques. What a Cool and Rewarding Weekend!
As the signature sponsor of the SCTP Southwest Regional in Las Vegas this past weekend, we had the opportunity to attend and meet coaches and shooters from Kansas City to Oregon to San Diego. We provided every team with a free demo set of our eyeglasses and provided 40+ gift certificates to be awarded to the fourth and fifth place finishers in each event as the first three places were receiving really super buckles.

You Can Improve Your Target Acquisition Speed and Recognition Accuracy
Over the years, I’m sure millions of dollars have been spent by clay target shooters trying to improve their target vision by investing in eyewear that promises increased acuity which is the ability to see clearly. However, in recent years new technology has revealed that sports vision across all types of sports is not just acuity but relies on the ability of our eyes to function in unison in a coordinated manner to deliver accurate image feeds to our brains.
Thank You Steve Carmichael!
Clark County Shooting Complex, one of the premier shooting venues in the World, is now retailing our SightTrax Vision multi-lens, shooting eyeware sets. Steve Carmichael, General Manager, whom I've known for a long time, stopped by our booth at the recent Nevada State Shoot. He was impressed with our eyeglass sets, particularly their high level of impact resistance when he looked at the lens we shot at 20 yards. He was also impressed by the great value they offer at our price points.
Two New Lens Colors Now Available!
Our sets now can be ordered with 5 lenses, clear, grey, purple, yellow and vermillion for $84.95 or in a 7 lens set adding in the blue and amber for $104.95 with free shipping for both. Plus, TS.Com readers get a special 15% Discount by putting "TS.COM" in the promo code box on the checkout page. We also offer special pricing for youth shooting teams. Buy 5 or more sets at a time and the prices are $60.00 for the 5 and $80.00 for the 7 with shipping based on how many sets are ordered.

Hard lefts, station 1
Latley I have been averaging 23-24 but I'm struggling with the hard lefts only on station 1 and that's mostly where all my misses have been from. Hard rights I have no problem but cant seem to get the hang of the hard lefts. Any tips? #1 · Latley I have been averaging 23-24 but I'm struggling with the hard lefts only on station 1 and that's mostly where all my misses have been from. Some Folks Sent Me Some Glasses to Shoot and I Did.
Quite honestly, I expected them to be destroyed. Instead, even being hit with 29 pellets, the lens neither broke, cracked nor was penetrated. It’s the first picture below. Based upon subsequent comments and reactions to my posting that picture, I made the offer to send out new sets of our shooting glasses to those who would be willing to send in old lenses of various brands. I had several sent in. After they all arrived, I went out to the club late last week and put them through the same test.
I Want to Shoot Your Glasses! Wanna Trade?
On another thread, there was a discussion about tests that glasses had to pass to be rated for safety. While those are controlled tests with fixed protocols, I thought it would be fun and instructive to actually shoot the lens we use in out sets. So, off to the range where I mounted our lens on a small pine log and shot it at only 20 yards with 7.5s at 1200fps. The blast knocked the log over backwards and the lens landed a few feet away.
How Impact/Penetration Resistant Are Your Shooting Glasses?
The question was asked on another thread as to what impact standard our lenses meet. The industry standard for impact/shatter resistant glasses is ANSI Z87.1 which our glasses meet. There is also an additional test that is designed to test penetration resistance such as might be found from flying fragments of metal, stone etc. Our lenses are high-quality polycarbonate which is highly resistant to penetration as well as shatter resistant.
Please Don't Shoot in Off-the Shelf Sunglasses!
A while back we set up our SightTrax Sports Vision tent at a large shooting complex that carries our SightTrax eyeglasses in their Pro shops. The occasion was their annual public open house where people can come and actually shoot various types of guns from the numerous brands that they carry. We were situated just past the opening gate so we talked to hundreds of the 3000 + visitors during the weekend.
Eye protection
Our sets are high quality at a fair price because we don't spend a fortune on advertising and sponsorships. However, any TS.com reader who buys a set gets a discount by putting TSCOM in our promo code box. Note that an RX frame insert is included with each set.
The Secret to Turning a Hose Bib On and Off!
First, thanks to all the forum members and youth teams that have purchased our SightTrax Eye Glasses sets. We have had several teams buy our 5 pack and then comeback and reorder and by up to 25 more. We market and sell these sets through our Prairie Sky Products business that also offers the other things we have invented and make. The first consumer product I invented is called Faucet Grip.
U S Second Amendment
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution was adopted in 1791 as part of the Bill of Rights and ratified that same year in December. “The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. There are several ways to interpret the U S Constitution. Ranging from “Originalism”-original understanding of the Constitution’s text at the time of ratification.
New Guy From MI
Hello all, I am relatively new to the sport really only getting into it last year but having a ton of fun. Thanks for having me!
Did You Get Your Michigan State Shoot Program?
I received one in the mail yesterday because we have an ad in the program but I was wondering if the general mailing had gone out.
Looking to See Better?
There is a wise, old saying in trapshooting that you can’t hit what you can’t see. This is used in reference to our ability to visually lock onto the target. Before current technology was available, everyone assumed that it was solely enabled by our vision acuity, the ability to see clearly as in 20/20. However, with the advent of new technology we now know that acuity is just one of the factors in being able to visually lock onto a target.
Vendor Wanted for The National Championship USA High School Clay Target League
We are looking for an onsite vendor to sell our shooting eyeware sets at this event taking place in Mason Michigan July 9-14. If you are attending the event as a parent or spouse of a coach this is a great opportunity to make some extra cash and get a travel expense write off on your taxes. We are also looking for vendors for other national and state championship clay target events. Contact me via PM for a conversation. Jim Tyner www.sighttraxvision.com
Would You Like to Sell Our Eyeglass Sets at Shoots?
Greetings, We are setting up vendor programs and one is for people who attend big shoots and would like to earn some money and, based upon advise from your tax advisor, get some deductions for your travel expenses. If you are already an onsite vendor, we would like you to add our eyeglasses to your offerings. We also have special programs for Clubs, Organizations and Shooting Products retailers. Information on these programs can be found on www.sighttrax.net or you can call me at 866 218 4233.
Are You a Youth Team Coach?
If you are a youth team coach, first, thank you! You guys and gals who invest your own time and money developing current and future shooters for the shotgun sports are invaluable in your contributions. As you are well aware, this is an expensive sport and most parents are sacrificing someplace else to fund their kid's participation. At SightTrax, we work with a wide array of young athletes, including shooters, and eye protection is always a concern. We only get two to last a lifetime.
5 lens, Multi-Colored Eyeglass Sets with ANSI Z287.1 Protection $68 for TSCOM Participants
Greetings, I have been posting on TS.com since 2006 as JBrooks. Many of you know that I developed ShotStop, the special ballistic fabric for shot curtains that is used by over 70 clubs to prevent their lead from landing on neighboring property or falling into sensitive areas. Many of you also know that I founded SightTrax. SightTrax is a leading provider of Dynamic Vision assessments used by athletes and professional teams worldwide to create the foundation for their sport vision training regimes.
