Frontiers | A simplified single transseptal puncture approach using high-density 3D voltage mapping for atrial fibrillation ablation: acute complications and long-term results
1. Introduction In the past two decades, significant advancements have been made in managing atrial fibrillation (AF) through catheter ablation. Initially, the procedure focused on isolating pulmonary veins (PV) due to their role in AF initiation (1). So, complete PV isolation (PVI) became the foundation for catheter ablation in AF therapy (2) and circumferential ablation around the PV ostia has become a key element in AF ablation.
Transarterial Selective Internal Radiation Therapy with Yttrium-90 for Liver Metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma of the Ureter as a Bridging Therapy to Immunotherapy: A Case Report with a 10-Year Follow-Up
Keywords: Yttrium radioisotopes, Liver neoplasms, Embolization, Therapeutic synergism, Carcinoma, Transitional cell, Immunotherapy, Case report Primary transitional cell carcinoma of the ureter is a rare type of cancer with an estimated annual incidence of 1.8 cases per 100,000 person-years in the USA. It is a very aggressive disease with metastasis presented in approximately 25% at diagnosis with a median overall survival of 21 months for advanced-stage patients [1, 2].
Case report: Mutation in NPPA gene as a cause of fibrotic atrial myopathy
Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a complex disease where several environmental and genetic risk factors contribute to its genesis. In recent years, rapid progress has been made in identifying the genetic basis for this highly prevalent arrhythmia. Early-onset AF can be the manifestation of an atrial myopathy. However, specific genetic identification of a mutation causing atrial fibrosis is rare.
