Have you ever used a typewriter?

As a kid, I have. Not professionally, though. I'm too young for that!

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Once I got this pitch about some subcelebrity's hairstylist. It was pretty terrible, considering I have never covered entertainment topics.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On the streets of São Paulo, moving from one appointment to another, looking for a good place to stop and read a book or just taking a walk.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Nexo Jornal, Agência Pública, Piauí, Science (the news and features sections), The New York Times and MIT Technology Review.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

People usually think that reporting on science is all about new flashy scientific findings, but there's actually a lot more to it.
