Discussion of our review of Misery 4K Blu-ray
Thank you Simon! Great review. I love this movie and despite owning the U.S. Kino version... may add this one to my collection too. Be good to know how they compare. BTW: Those who are interested in Annie Wilkes backstory (on how she became) should check out the very impressive 'CASTLE ROCK: SEASON 2' (starring Tim Robbins and Lizzy Caplan superb as a young Annie Wilkes). It's very good and an excellent companion piece to 'MISERY'. TRAILER :

#2 Completely agree with your review, although 5/10 is way to generous. I’ll never watch the 4K disc. #3 Absolutely agree it's a terrible film JTR, DIYSG JVC, Trinnov, Nord, madVR HTPC #4 Same here. Unforgiven Ultra HD Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Thanks Simon. This is one of my favourite UHDs of late. The soundtrack was thunderous in parts, the picture perfectly balanced and as you say sympathetic to the original. Very in keeping with the genre too. The Devil's Backbone 4K Blu-ray Review
The Devil's Backbone Review Guillermo del Toro tells that The Devil’s Backbone not only saved his movie career, a but also his life, as he was going through a tumultuous time in both; and that it was a chance meeting with producer Pedro Almodóvar, and he wanting to work exclusively with him, essentially giving the director carte blanche to make the film as he envisaged – and this allowed an, at that time, unprecedented freedom of expression in front of and behind the camera, leading to one of...

Mantrap 4K Blu-ray Review
Mantrap Review Sandwiched between Stolen Face and The Four-sided Triangle, two noir-ish films with similar sci-fi trappings, Terence Fisher completed, again for Hammer, Mantrap (also known as Man in Hiding) which was a far straighter noir without needing the hook of anything otherworldly.

Demons of the Mind 4K Blu-ray Review
Demons of the Mind Review Demons of the Mind, originally to be titled Blood will have Blood (thought to have too many ‘bloods’ in the title despite the Shakespearian origins) was an EMI financed, Frank Godwin presented, Hammer production. Why does this matter?
Poltergeist 4K Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Many thanks for the review - always loved this film since first time seeing it on TV as a kid. Found it really scary back then and it still holds its creepiness. I have the blu-ray that's decent, so not sure if I'll upgrade (might rent the 4k disc). Now I just need to decide when my kids can watch it. The 13 year old should be fine...its probably no worse than Stranger Things these days. My Home Cinema Let's talk about Six baby .... !! #3 Great review.

Godzilla (2014) 4K Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Thanks for the review - having now seen all 4 Monsterverse films this one I think is the best. By no means a masterpiece but some of the set pieces are excellent and the humans are not as stupid as they are in the other films. Never owned the blu so may get this if it hits the 3 for £30 sales. My Home Cinema Let's talk about Six baby .... !! #3 I re-watched this recently on blu ray. Free from the expectations and hype I found it a much better film than I remembered from my first viewing.

Fear in the Night 4K Blu-ray Review
Fear in the Night Review 1972’s Fear in the Night is notable for its ‘lasts’. It is the last film by Hammer in the psychological thriller genre, it is the last film Ralph Bates acted in for Hammer, and it is the last time writer/director Jimmy Sangster worked for them. It’s probably a good thing.

Spaceways 4K Blu-ray Review
Spaceways Review Between 1951 and 1955, Terrence Fisher was prolific in the director’s chair with some 14 films to his name, many for Hammer. And while most have some element of the keen eye he would develop for the British company, others were more ‘director for hire’; Spaceways, falls firmly into this category.
Discussion of our review of Ben Hur 4K Blu-ray
Thanks for the review Simon, I was worried when I didn't see an Unmissable or Highly Recommended stamp across the top but assuming it's not there because of the extras. Glad to hear everything else is top notch. Now just have to decide which edition to get.
Ben-Hur 4K Blu-ray Review
Ben-Hur Review It’s amazing to consider that Ben-Hur was a huge financial risk for MGM in 1958; they essentially poured everything into the production, risking the very company on its success. Fortunately, the result is something very special indeed. Already a prolific director, though of more considered, intermate pictures, William Wyler’s reputation allowed him to expand upon the narrative and produce the epic that he so admired in fellow director David Lean.
Naked Lunch 4K Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Nice review Simon. I pretty much agree. Its a hard film to like and a recent watch confirmed that for me. #3 This and Barton Fink use to be my go to joke film recomendation back in the day. Epson TW9400 projector, monitor Audio Bronze 5.1.4, Denon 2300 amp, Panasonic ub820 4k player, ps5, LG oled C9, NVIDIA Shield tv and On the buses boxset. #4 I've never seen the film & based on Simon's review I'm not sure that I'm likely to as it sounds like it's quite challenging. Nice review though.

Save the Green Planet! 4K Blu-ray Review
Save the Green Planet! Review The inspiration for director Jang Joon-hwan’s first feature film came from two main sources: firstly, he admired the dynamic between kidnapper and victim in Rob Reiner’s 1990 interpretation of Stephen King’s novel Misery, but felt the character of Annie Wilkes, despite the powerhouse performance from Kathy Bates, was lacking in depth, and wanted to develop this, even going so far as to theme his film around the point of view of the kidnapper.
Stolen Face 4K Blu-ray Review
Stolen Face Review 1952 was a busy year for Terence Fisher, already an established director, he made three films for Hammer, Man Bait, Dead on Course, and Stolen Face. The former two both having similar themes of noir-esque blackmail plots, while the latter shares ideas with his next film, again for Hammer, The Four Sided Triangle (no, not a square) with science fiction trappings of love and obsession.
