CD Stuck in Cambridge Audio One - help?

I know this is an ancient thread but my Cambridge Audio One player is now 16 years old. It's started ejecting discs randomly during playback over the last few months. Now today it wouldn't eject the disc after playing. I took it apart, took the top off and got the disc out and cleaned the lens etc with a soft cloth. But then powering up, it got stuck in a loop and, even though there was no disc, it was trying to load then eject.
