Little Violets, by Hankamer
Up, half-asleep That same voice calls to her Stands up tall through her Out, in the sun The flowers sing to her Spread their wings for her Down, in the leaves She gives her days to them Feeds and raises them Out, half-asleep That voice appears to her Loud and clear for her And the ambient thoughts in her head Just wash away from her Bright and gray for her And she's suddenly free of her dread When a silence clearly not hers takes a breath Now, as she grows old The flowers sing to her Spread...
Ostrich, by Castle Theater
Hello there. Thanks for your interest in my music. Of all the things I’ve made, this album has the most “me” in it, for better or worse. Like many of us, I spent stretches of the pandemic digging into my history, thinking a lot about memory and what a funny, unreliable thing it can be. Certain moments can be recalled instantly and seemingly intact, while others are fuzzy or incomplete. Events that we remember happening one way might have actually occurred in a completely different way.
A Million Times, by Tanya-Lee Davies
The latest lockdown love child from Tanya-Lee Davies, A Million Times, is a melodic dream held together by hypnotic percussion, romantic catch phrases, sweet as a cool breeze ukulele and swirling keyboards. It’s a slice of summer wrapped in lyrics that draw you as close as the lover would have the lovee … if only they could. 60’s Euro pop meets 2021 house arrest romantic cravings.
Memory's Fool | Fortunato Durutti Marinetti | Bobo Integral
OUT 18 MARCH 2022 Born in Turin and based in Toronto, Marinetti has been playing in bands of varying degrees of obscurity for the last twenty years, frequently touring North America in his Volvo station wagon and quietly self-releasing albums to an oblivious and oversaturated marketplace. Memory’s Fool is his second release under his own name (following 2020’s Desire) and his first time working with proper label support.

Why Cut Time, by Jennifer Hall
Quickly in a fading game In and out, a winner's flame Make it last just as long as it burns Running circles while we ever turn Hateful heart to lead a pack Painful heart to feed attacks Cuz the game never played out so fair Still a shooter runs, no breathing air Nobody leaves here alone Blood runs dry Nobody leaves here alone Why cut time Nobody leaves here alone Drifting high Nobody leaves here alone Why cut time In the streets, a shaking ground Deafening and breaking sound Bullets never a...

Dead Of The Night, by Sondre Lerche
In the dead of the night, the dead of the night All has been done before Every possible shape Every human position Every euphoric decent and impossible mission in the dead of the night The dead of the night Every horror, every blow Every transcendent sensory overload All good faith shaken All that hard-earned trust forsaken in the dead of the night The dead of the night And you’re watching Every use of the body, each and every combination, in the shape of someone else’s imagination The dead...
The Hour Between Us, by Anna Smyrk
1. Old friend, what’s up with you? Your eyes a darker shade of blue Your skin is thin, I see the veins right through Good god, you’re standing there In last night’s clothes, no underwear Your fingers bleed from picking at the skin You say, “There’s nothing good, and nothing bad, There’s just what you take and what you’re given.” You say, “So what if I’m feeling sad? This loneliness is just a part of living.” And all the lonely people, Where do they come from?
Periwinkle, by Colleen Dow
Colleen Dow (they/them) knows the value of collaboration. After all, their debut album with Thank You, I’m Sorry was named I’m Glad We’re Friends, an evergreen reference to the Minneapolis band’s tight-knit camaraderie and in-universe narratives. Inspired by similar alone-but-together experiments like The Postal Service and the electronic longing of Now, Now’s various incarnations, their solo work branches away from syrupy indie-punk towards the iridescence of pop and synth-drenched stardust.

Drive, by Mondegreen
Waiting on that busy street With the weight of the world fallen at my feet Don’t know how I’m supposed to feel It’s been so long since I’ve been alone Not sure how it’s supposed to go So instead I wait and I hope that it’s not real You’ve ruined all my favourite places Now you wanna feed my scraps Give me something to hold onto So I don’t feel as bad And though I can’t explain it You know I like being alone You make me crazy But I want you to drive me home Not sure why I’m holding on Try to...

If I'm told it's too melancholic to sing about it this way But it is real isn't it? So why bother to give in? It's on my mind, set You can interpret it as worthless It's on my mind yet It’s been called too absurd But when I'm lonely in a corner Sucking back the air I wheeze Will you wanna hold my hand then? Will you come find me? 2.

Traversa, by Geotic
You don’t need tedious platitudes about the transportative nature of music, but every so often—a few times a year at most—an album lives up to the possibility of effortless flight. Geotic’s Traversa is just that, an eight-song atlas that spans from the lightly buried memories in the back of your brain to the distant corners of this languidly spinning sphere.

Shadows on my Wall, by Luna Keller
About Shadows on my wall This song started as a poem written into my phone at 3am after waking up from a nightmare. It really just flew directly out of my subconscious onto the page and I fell asleep again right afterwards. It was only a couple of days later that I realized that the guitar part I had been playing around with fit the poem perfectly. So that’s how I wrote it, but what is it about?
