Physiological Patterns of Coronary Artery Disease and Drug-Coated Balloon Performance
Results After applying exclusion criteria and having discarded incomplete or not analyzable angiographic data and μFR virtual pull back analysis, a total of 230 patients (for a total of 230 coronary lesions) underwent QCA and μFR at baseline and follow-up (Supplemental Figure 1). These were treated either with paclitaxel-coated (n = 138; 60%) or with sirolimus-coated (n = 92; 40%) DCB.
A new vision on the management of diffuse, calcified lesions
Diffuse and calcified CAD are difficult to treat. Normaly, extensive stenting offers good immediate results; however, different forms of treatment may improve long-term efficacy. In this case, we show a stent-less approach to a very diffuse and moderately calcified LAD disease.
Dynamic Changes of 3D Bending Angle Through the Cardiac Cycle: Implications With Bioresorbable Scaffold Performance
JACC Journals › JACC: Asia › Archives › Vol. 5 No. 12 Original Research : JACC: Asia Volume 5, Number 12 Bioresorbable scaffolds (BRS) were initially hailed as a breakthrough in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), promising temporary mechanical support to the treated segment, while gradually resorbing over time.

Corrected QTc interval combined with troponin value and mortality in acute ischemic stroke
Introduction According to the Global Burden of Disease, stroke remains the predominant cause of death and disability worldwide (1), and cardiovascular complications are the second leading cause of death, followed by stroke (2). Therefore, assessment of biomarkers for cardiac injury and dysfunction, in particular serum cardiac troponin assay and electrocardiography (ECG), has been recommended for early recognition of cardiovascular abnormalities in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) (3).

Functional Patterns of Coronary Disease: Diffuse, Focal, and Serial Lesions
JACC Journals › JACC: Interventions › Archives › Vol. 15 No. 21 Abstract The physiological assessment of coronary lesions is influenced by the pattern and distribution of coronary artery disease (CAD), including focal lesions, serial lesions, diffuse disease, and mixed patterns.
Implantable Sensors for Hemodynamic Monitoring
Chronic heart failure (HF) represents a progressive disease with an increasing prevalence worldwide, leading to a rapid escalation of cardiovascular mortality and morbidity with consequent significant health economic burden.
Extravalvular Cardiac Damage and Renal Function Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation for Severe Aortic Stenosis
Abstract Background In this study we sought to determine the differences in incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI) and acute kidney recovery (AKR) among patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), according to the degree of extravalvular cardiac damage (EVCD). Methods From the Verona Valvular Heart Disease Registry, 674 symptomatic severe aortic stenosis (AS) patients were selected and retrospectively analysed.
