But after five days of evidence at the High Court in Aberdeen Lord Matthews ruled there was no case to answer and acquitted her of all charges. The baby was admitted to hospital on two occasions amid concerns for her health as she had low blood sugar levels. Tests later revealed abnormalities in her blood samples and medics believed she had been injected with insulin. Warrender had denied trying to kill the baby. The Crown case concluded on Tuesday.

Louise Seatter got behind the wheel of her car just weeks after a previous ban for drink driving expired. David Thompson, 35, a father of two, said it was not until he was outside the club and tried to switch the device on to make a call that he realised what it was, because it started crackling. The hand-held contraption looks like a stereotypical black mobile phone, complete with a display picture and keypad. The same model is advertised online as a "cellphone stun gun", with one website stating that it can produce a charge of up to 300,000 volts.

Stonehaven Sheriff Court heard David Thompson thought he was stealing a mobile phone when he pocketed the device from a nightclub in Aberdeen. It was only when he tried to call his girlfriend that he realised what it was because it crackled. The stun gun had been disguised as a mobile phone. Grampian Police chief inspector George MacDonald said: "Thankfully incidents of this type are rare within the city and I believe the sentence sends out a strong message to any individuals who concern themselves with weapons of any description.

The toddler was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but Grampian Police said she was fatally injured in the incident. The driver of the 4x4 was not hurt. Bruce Chisholm, 19, admitted deliberately or recklessly injuring or killing the bat while he was playing pool in a British Legion building in Aberdeen. Chisholm was fined £160 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for the offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act . The court heard offshore worker Chisholm had panicked and feared he might catch rabies.
