What was your first job as a journalist?

I interned at UK national newspaper, The Muslim News, when I was 18 and went on to write a column for them.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Nope - definitely before my time.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Macbook Pro, Canon 30D (plus Adobe's Creative Suite), Moleskine diary, Samsung Galaxy S3, Evernote and the classic pen and paper.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter - users can share news and opinion but journalists can now also put forward their personalities.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Not quite. I wanted to create something bigger so I founded The Student Journals - an online magazine for students around the world.
