ROANE COUNTY: (6:30 AM CT) An overturned vehicle at mile marker 431 has the Eastbound lanes closed at MM 341. Traffic is backing up at this time and TDOT is diverting motorists at exit 338/Westel Road to STRT 70 then STRT 27 North to the I-40 entrance ramp at MM 347.

UNKNOWN POWDER SUBSTANCE SENT TO TN GOP LAWMAKERS
NASHVILLE, TN – Emergency HAZMAT crews were dispatched to the Cordell Hull Building this afternoon in Nashville, to investigate a powdery substance that was mailed to GOP lawmakers. Staff inside the building have been advised not to leave the premises at this time. EXPECT CONGESTION AND TRAFFIC DELAYS AT THE I-40/75 SPLIT
Loudon County – As the weekend approaches, motorists can expect travel advisories and congestion in their commute as they travel Eastbound on I-40 and the I-75 split. Backups have been reported as far as Lenoir City, and as the day continues, travelers will find slow downs and stationary conditions in those areas as they make their way towards Knoxville. Use extra caution while driving and watch for emergency vehicles should accidents be reported.
WEEKEND ROAD REPAIR AND CULVERT WORK SCHEDULED FOR CROSSVILLE
Crossville, TN – TDOT crews will be performing a culvert installation at 10th Street beginning at 5 AM on Saturday, June 10th in Crossville. The work is expected to be completed by 8 PM on Monday, June 12th. The project will result in road closures at the intersection of West Avenue and 4th Street and at the intersection of West Avenue and Keyes Street. Traffic will be directed around the work area and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the work times.

Putnam County – At 4 AM this morning a dual trailer semi experienced a rollover that has shut down Eastbound I-40 for the past several hours. First Responders and emergency crews arrived at mile marker 288.5 and due to the contents of the trailers, cleanup will cause an extended delay in reopening all lanes. CRAB ORCHARD ELEMENTARY CLEAN-UP TURNS UP DISCARDED "WEAPON"
Crab Orchard, TN: The April “Crab Orchard Elementary Campus Clean-Up” cleaned up more than was expected on Friday morning as a discarded “weapon” was found at the HWY 70 school entrance. The “weapon”, which was located in a drainage ditch, was immediately retrieved by officers that were called to the scene, and no one was in any immediate danger. The “weapon” was deemed “harmless” and after the officers documented the situation, the clean-up proceeded on the campus property as scheduled.
ST. RT. 68 SEMI TRUCK ACCIDENT FORCES EASTBOUND LANE CLOSURES
Cumberland County: State Route 68 Eastbound lane at Wiley Ford Road continues to be shut down due to an earlier multi-vehicle accident involving a Semi Truck. The wreck was first reported at 5:40 AM Friday morning and traffic congestion is ongoing. Emergency vehicles and First Responders are working on the accident and because of the debris cleanup expect the road to be closed into the afternoon hours. Please avoid this area if possible and expect delays.

WOMAN ON ELECTRIC SCOOTER KILLED ON I-140 EARLY TUESDAY MORNING
Knoxville, TN – A woman riding an electric scooter on I-140 West/Pellissippi Parkway, was hit by a vehicle and killed Tuesday morning, officials with the Knoxville Police Department said. The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. KPD officials were not able to say why the woman was on an interstate while driving an electric scooter, but did say that the owner of the car involved stayed on scene. Rolling Fork, MS – A massive tornado has left a 100 mile swath of destruction. Details from Fox News FOX NEWS.COM – Tornadoes injured at least two people in Mississippi on Friday as the twisters tore a path of destruction across the state that appears to be at least 100 miles long. The tornadoes began in the town of Rolling Fork, where a Tornado Emergency, which is the most dire of tornado alerts, was issued.
