Why did you become a journalist?

I enjoy writing that has an immediate purpose.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, I didn't. I was the editor of the student magazine though.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm most proud of the story about hundreds of foreign nationals being held in Shenzhen, China, after the police raided a party.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

A release claiming a PR stunt had gone viral – before the stunt had taken place.

What's your favorite drink?

Milk.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Taking video or photos in the streets.
