What was your first job as a journalist?

City reporter, 5-day daily.

Tony Hillerman's dead. Don't read a lot of fiction.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Better than being at 7-Eleven on pay.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Mac, InDesign, Photoshop, Canons.

Twitter lets me, or focuses me, to be the most sarcastic.

Who do you wish followed you?

Mainstream liberals. Maybe Dem Party & its apparatchiks would get better.

Why did you become a journalist?

Lack of better job options, no Peter Principles on horizon.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Elementary school paper, plus college paper & yearbook.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Investigative piece that brought CDC to my city. Doing so incl working a few shoals betw it & state health dept, plus fighting 7-day metro

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't. It's not that liberal outside of 2 hot-button social issues & headed downhill.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime. Ask me to do alt-left news, comparative religion, non-New Atheism.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

None. I'm a community newspaper working stiff who's never gotten Peter Principle lucky.

Battery acid with an Everclear chaser.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Hiking, walking, taking pictures, reading non-fiction, cooking.
