The Newt is seeking subpoenas yesterday for Clinton but now to include Obama in the email investigation.
Trump pleads not guilty to election charges in Georgia, waives arraignment
Response to LetMyPeopleVote (Reply #4) Thu Aug 31, 2023, 02:57 PM despite all his manipulative law-breaking actions as a gangster mob boss not the least of which is his continuing delusion that he is the President of the USA despite flapping his jaw in acknowledgement that he actually lost the election and isn't President and an indictment that his schemes with others to make it so were illegal.

CDC tracking new COVID variant BA.2.86 after highly-mutated strain reported in Michigan
Response to 2naSalit (Reply #1) Fri Aug 18, 2023, 08:14 AM Luckily the supermarket I frequent has a bunch of cashiers who have religiously masked, so even if there are now just a handful of us masking in there, several of the check-out aisles have staff who are too.
Lindsey Graham Makes WTF Claim About Trump Indictments And Gets Corrected
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Fox News Wednesday that Donald Trump was being treated like a criminal simply for challenging election results, inviting fierce fact-checks from critics on the platform formerly called Twitter, now known as X. As many Republicans have done, Graham noted that the four-time-indicted Trump is facing charges in court venues where he’s not popular.

Pic Of The Moment: So Let Me Get This Straight
Response to Ocelot II (Reply #1) Tue Aug 15, 2023, 11:48 AM We made the decision and this ass with the trump cult thought it was not our choice, did not go their way. 30 unindicted co-conspirators. If this document is giving the names of the Juror's and risking their lives, as per legal ladies on MSNBC last night, why the hell can we not see all 30 of these. Lindsay will be in the list with many other “Law Makers”. Expose every one before elections. Let us decide that outcome as well.
Why doesn't the military help in disasters more quickly?
Response to BlueIn_W_Pa (Original post) Fri Aug 11, 2023, 10:28 AM There's a wall there for a reason. Republicans have been itching to use the military against Americans for decades now. In an emergency like this one I don't think they could have done much good as they would have needed time to get supplies, fuel, and take off. 'We Need a National Divorce': Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls for Republican States to Secede From
Response to LastLiberal in PalmSprings (Reply #68) Mon Feb 20, 2023, 03:18 PM 70. I can't begin to imagine that, though her parents could have been far worse. I've known women like her and they frequently embarrassed their children, spouses, and friends (when they had any). Loud, in-your-face, and rude. I've worked in retail and restaurants and we've all had customers like Marjorie. They are never happy unless they are making someone else feel small.
Price tag of Biden's student debt relief is about $400B, CBO says
Response to Farmer-Rick (Reply #9) Mon Sep 26, 2022, 11:44 PM 13. Besides that 1.7 trillion being EVERY year since 2017 why is the message not getting out that this is 10 grand of relief for most, 20 grand for the rest. 10 to 20k dollars per student! It's RELIEF, not PAYING OFF a 100k dollar loan for a BS or something. And for many it's not going to pay their loans off.
Kansas voters protect abortion rights, reject measure that would have allowed statewide ban
Response to Judi Lynn (Reply #21) Wed Aug 3, 2022, 01:36 AM 23. Hear, hear! Pundits - and even some Republicans - are openly predicting just that this November. The prospect of losing abortion rights - even in cases of rape, incest, or fatal health risks (!!!) - is shaping up to be much more of a catalyst than many had anticipated. It goes without saying that this is just about the most medieval thing I've ever thought I'd hear in U.S politics.

Erdogan says Turkey not supportive of Finland, Sweden joining NATO
Response to Rebl2 (Reply #8) Fri May 13, 2022, 06:58 PM 28. No. Article 5 demands that any existing NATO country be willing to send thousands of its citizens to die to defend another. Would you be willing to be Biden and face down 10k mothers upset that he sent their kids to die for a country that most Americans didn't want to support? A lot of American mothers barely tolerate the idea of their sons dying for a cause the US government endorses.

Iowa Senator Introduces Bill That Forces Teachers to Recite Pledge, be 'Patriotic'
Not this again. Granted, Barnette applied to students, but I suspect that extending its coverages to teachers is not much of a stretch. If the ghost of Antonin Scalia were to appear in Iowa's legislative chambers, it would start slappin' some legislators upside the head. With the assist, the Notorious RBG. Blast from the DU past: Mon Jun 14, 2021: On this day, June 14, 1943, West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette was decided.
