Weglinski: Dark Humor Is Actually Offensive – The Daily Utah Chronicle
By Sonia Weglinski, Opinion Writer May 13, 2021 Recently a “hilarious joke” surfaced on TikTok. On April 24, a group of men planned on sexually assaulting women and children. They went as far as saying it was a holiday, calling it — disgustingly — “National Rape Day.” When I first saw the video — which has since been taken down — I felt shocked and outraged. I couldn’t fathom how this could be funny to anyone.

Weglinski: Psychedelics Don't Deserve the Stigma – The Daily Utah Chronicle
By Sonia Weglinski, Opinion Writer March 30, 2021 Most people think of psychedelics as dangerous, highly addictive drugs. This stigma started back in the 1960s, when President Richard Nixon declared a war on the psychedelic drugs popular among anti-war groups during the Vietnam War. This halted further clinical research on the effects of psychedelics and fueled the fear-mongering language that still surrounds them.
