There’s a new acronym flying around Wall Street and it’s pissing Trump off. TACO. TACO stands for Trump Always Chickens Out. A 3 judge panel in New York says Trump’s trade war is illegal. Halt the tariffs and pass the tacos. There is a small provision in Trump’s big beautiful bill that is losing potential support in the Senate by the day. This little provision has nothing to do with the budget.

Trump wished the nation a happy Memorial Day on Truth Social and ranted about all of the liberals who are letting 20 million insane people enter the country. After 52 years of campaigning, 6 consecutive wins in the US Senate resulting in 36 years of service, then winning the presidential race three times; twice as vice president and once as president, President Biden told the nation it was time for him to step down in a speech from the Oval Office with 39 family members and staffers in the room. He's going out at the very top of his game.
Convict Convention
It's day three of the Republican National Convention. Trump showed up last night wearing a giant fake folded paper towel on his ear which inspired some of his cult followers to do the same. Seriously. There are weirdos at the convention right now with paper towels taped to their ears. There are known criminals walking all over the place at the convention.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July. Half of the nation was too stunned and depressed to care. A holiday that is supposed to commemorate the severing of the relationship between the colonies and a tyrannical king was ruined by the Supreme Court days earlier when it ruled that the 3 branches of government were no longer equal and that presidents are kings.
Republican Cage Fight
The Supreme Court overturned the federal court's decision in Idaho that says all abortion is illegal even if the pregnant woman is in extreme agony, fighting for her own life. It is legal and safe, at least for now, to get health care if you show up in the emergency room bleeding from an ectopic pregnancy or fevered with septic shock. Women won't have to beg health care providers to help them only to be sent home. SCOTUS says you can get an abortion in Idaho, but only the medically urgent kind.
Like a Dog
The day began with Judge Merchan ruling on the gag order violations. He got fined $1,000 (the maximum) for 9 offenses. He has to pay $9,000 by Friday. The judge warned Trump that since he can easily afford the fines that the only thing that might deter him from violating the gag order from now on is time in jail. The judge granted Trump’s request to attend Barron’s graduation. Poor kid.

OJ Simpson is dead. Finally. Before there was Trump, there was OJ — a rich and famous wife beater who got away with double murder and unleashed the Kardashians on us. OJ Simpson’s friend and attorney, Robert Kardashian (he’s dead too) helped get him off. OJ’s wife Nicole was his friend.

Trump did 2 campaign events in 2 states yesterday — Wisconsin and Michigan. In Wisconsin he attacked immigrants and reiterated his promise to the crowd that if elected, he’d get rid of them all, sending white supremacists a signal that if they turn their neighbors in who help immigrants that he’ll make it worth their while. John Eastman got disbarred in California. He’s the MAGA kook lawyer from California who was a major player in the insurrection. So far he has been indicted in Fulton County, Georgia but there will be more. One indictment and counting… Jeff Clark could be next to be disbarred. He was the environmental lawyer at the DOJ that Trump pulled in to serve as attorney general on an emergency basis during the insurrection.
Blame Game
The radical Republican Catholic Supreme Court is at it again, hearing another abortion case this morning. This one is on the legality of the popular abortion pill. The court is hearing opening arguments now and will decide on outlawing the medication in all states after overturning Roe v Wade which was supposed to give abortion access to the states to decide.
Shut Up Already
Trump spent $230,000 a day on legal bills last month. Now that his daughter in law and other MAGA operatives have taken over the RNC, they will be fundraising to pay Trump’s PAC $230,000 a day. Whatever is left over can go to paying RNC bills or donating to other Republican campaigns. Trump told the Republicans to shut down the government to undermine the criminal proceedings against him. The New York Attorney General Letitia Adams is moving in on Trump’s properties.
Rootin’ Tootin’ Putin
Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, is back. Trump wants him to be his campaign manager this time. The guy who was convicted and sent to jail in 2018 for tax and bank fraud felonies as part of the Mueller investigation and was later pardoned by Trump is back. He is not only a felon who laundered money and hid millions in overseas bank accounts he got from foreign lobbying, he shared internal Trump campaign polling data with Russian intelligence in 2016.
Face Off
Trump got the delegates he needed to be the nominee. The 2024 presidential election will be a faceoff between two old white men, a rematch between incumbents who are only 4 years apart but the media only focuses on one. Trump is facing hundreds of years in prison and will go down in history for trying to overturn the government after being impeached twice but that’s not a story. Trump’s watch party was at Mar-a-Lago. Cash bar.

The former FBI informant charged with lying about the Bidens to the FBI, Alexander Smirnov, was re-arrested after being let go by a magistrate judge in Nevada. Prosecutors want to keep him behind bars because he’s got access to $6 million and has an Israeli passport. The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is going on now in Maryland. It used to be a well attended event for mainstream conservatives and now it’s sparsely attended with QAnon weirdos and Trump groupies.

22 people were shot at the Kansas City Super Bowl parade to celebrate the Chiefs’s win. Half of them were kids. 1 million turned out for the parade and every one of them had the freedom to bring as many guns as they wanted to the parade, even kids (as long as they got the guns from their parents).

Trump wants his daughter in law, Lara Trump, to be the chair of the RNC. Whatever. Reputable qualifications and relevant experience don’t mean anything in today’s GOP because it’s a criminal enterprise. The S&P 500 index hit 5,000 for the first time in history. Wall Street is optimistic that the Federal Reserve is going to cut interest rates but whatever, Biden is old. At a MAGA rally in South Carolina Trump asked Russia to attack our NATO allies, basically inviting World War III.

Snapshot of America and guns: -In two weeks it will be the 6th anniversary of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. To celebrate, the Republicans in the state house want to roll back the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Act that passed after the shooting which legislated waiting periods and age restrictions for gun purchases. - Nearly 30,000 firearms have been stolen from cars since Republicans in Tennessee started making gun laws looser in 2013.
MAGA Cult
Surprise! Trump won the Iowa caucus. Of course he did. DeSantis and Haley are trailing way behind him. MAGA is a cult. This election is not about politics. His followers literally worship him. This is a religion. The cult followers are too far gone at this point. They’re hopeless and can’t be helped. They will vote for him even if he ends up in jail. It looks as though 110,000 Republicans turned out last night, according to preliminary results from the state GOP.

Trump’s civil fraud trial in New York is over. Judge Engoron says he’ll rule before January 31. He made a last minute decision to let Trump speak during closing argument. To no one’s surprise, he said he was an innocent man and that the trial was a fraud on him and that he should get paid. The judge probably let him do it, even after he already said no, because it will make things easier on appeal. Let Trump drive another nail in his own coffin. The Iowa caucus is today.
Michigan - The Great Fakes State
Trump appeared in federal court this morning to try and get the 3 judge panel to agree with him that he was immune from putting an insurrection together because he was president at the time. His lawyers argued that presidents have the same powers as dictators. They actually said that Trump could sell pardons and order SEAL Team Six to murder political opponents and he would be immune from prosecution just so long as he was not impeached and convicted in the Senate first.
Kooks or Flukes
Voters in Illinois and Massachusetts have taken the necessary steps to take Trump off of the 2024 ballot. A nut with a gun in Denver busted into a building where the Colorado Supreme Court is located and opened fire. Nobody was hurt. It’s not known yet if he’s a MAGA out to shoot justices for removing Trump from the ballot or if he’s a nut with a gun running wild. Capitol and state buildings in half a dozen states were shut down.
Summary of 2023
In January, the 118th Congress was sworn in after 4 days and 15 votes, after Kevin McCarthy was finally elected as the weakest, most compromised Speaker in history. He gave 12 of the 20 insurrectionists committee assignments (in exchange for their yes votes). Three of the newly elected Republicans turned out to be complete frauds who had created MAGA personas to win. Republicans got arrested and sentenced.
Out with the Old in with the New
2023 was the year of indictments and lawsuits. 2024 is going to be the year of trials. Trump is scared shitless. Literally. #trumpsmells trended for a week giving Trump a taste of his own juvenile medicine. He has finally been the target of immature insults like the thousands that he’s been hurling for 8 years.
Sex, Lies, Videotape and Audiotape
Trump is on a call with a couple of Michigan canvassers trying to talk them into not certifying the vote for 2020. RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel is on the call too and promised them that they would hire lawyers for them if they had any problems. This was in Wayne County which is Detroit where a lot of Black people live. The call was recorded. This could mean a fifth indictment for Trump.
Blowing Bubbles
Trump is fundraising off of the Colorado Supreme Court decision. MAGAs who blindly send him their hard earned money are living in a bubble. They have no idea what’s going on outside of it. The morning after the Colorado Supreme Court decision, Kellyanne Conway sat with a couple of Faux News wenches on their good morning couch and said, “I think Democrats wake up every morning and they look at the calendar on the iPhone and it says January 6th. The date never changes.
Trump the Lord
Trump is ramping up the Hitler rhetoric and praising dictators and people are loving it. His best applause lines are when he rants about how he’ll rule once he’s back in office. His whole campaign is based on revenge. He will put immigrants in camps as well as his enemies, members of the press, and critics.
Republicans Losing Their Grip
Rudy Giuliani has been ordered to pay Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss $148 million. They’re overjoyed not because they’re going to get millions (Rudy is broke) but because they get to send a message to others who plan on making the same political play on behalf of Trump to think again. Singling out ordinary citizens who have answered the call to do their civic duty by volunteering to count votes and accusing them of being criminals could cost you millions. They’re not done.
Dicktator Calling
In a speech at Mar-a-Lago Trump said, “He asked me a question, ‘please say you don’t want to be a dictator.’ I said no I won’t say that.” A binder containing highly classified information related to Russian election interference went missing at the end of Trump’s presidency, exposing closely guarded national security secrets.
Pieces of Trump
Trump is so hard up for cash he’s selling pieces of the suit that he was wearing when he got his mug shot taken in Fulton County. Jack Smith has data from the phone Trump used in the White House before election day until after January 6. Smith knows where Trump was, what websites he visited, who he talked to, when Twitter was in use, etc. After his trial stars in March, the whole world will know too. Jack Smith also has cell phone data from someone else who was very close to Trump during this time.
Tower of Cower
In a Sunday Morning TV interview, Kevin McCarthy kissed up to Trump by endorsing him and saying he’d be willing to serve in his cabinet if asked. “We have a relationship where we’re very honest with one another,” he said. He groveled just like he did when he flew down to Mar-a-Lago after Trump’s failed coup attempt, letting himself be photographed with him for personal political power reasons. McCarthy brought the monster back to life so now the monster owes him.
The Read Sea
House Speaker Mike Johnson spoke at an event that he thought was closed to the media only someone live streamed it so the media found out. He’s on video comparing himself to Moses. He said God talks to him every day. Before he was elected Speaker, God told him to prepare for his Red Sea moment. He’s a man on a mission. He admitted that Christians are working from within to take over the government. Mike Johnson is a theocrat. This is his big break.

Kevin McCarthy is out. He told Republicans and America to go fuck themselves and is quitting at the end of the month. His announcement comes 2 months after he made history for getting fired as Speaker. This takes the Republican majority down by 2 seats leaving them with a 2 seat majority. What’s even more problematic for them is he’s their #1 fundraiser. He quit schmoozing with rich people and corporations awhile ago which has brought donations down for Republicans and the party by 70%.
Three Wishes
Speaker Mike Johnson first said that there weren’t enough votes to impeach Joe Biden and a couple of days later he said never mind, let’s impeach the president as if he was an item in his Amazon Prime cart. Republicans admitted that they’re doing this as a tactic to “give Trump ‘a little bit of ammo to fire back’” so he can point to Biden and say, See? See? Biden got impeached too! The people who are impeaching Joe Biden are also protecting the people who attacked the Capitol and injured 150 cops.
