Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
I worked as a sports content writer for Republic World.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist means being the eyes and ears for people who can't be in the room. It means giving people clear, reliable information so they can form their own opinions about the world.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Package your story for every platform—turn one piece of reporting into a sharp print article, a visual video script, and a quick social thread. Accuracy always beats speed, so verify sources before you publish.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The biggest misperception about sports journalism is that you’re just getting paid to watch games. In reality, it’s a high-stakes mix of business, data, and hard news. Covering the beat means analysing media rights, investigating athlete health, and executing fast-paced editorial strategy. It’s not about reporting scores—it’s about unpacking tactical trends, managing multi-platform coverage, and showing how sports intersect with business and culture
