What was your first job as a journalist?

Junior reporter at Milngavie and Bearsden Herald but I had a lot of freelance gigs before that.

Jessica Fletcher

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It’s part of my identity. I don’t know who I would be without it. I love telling people’s stories and exposing injustice.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter, it’s best for journalist.

Why did you become a journalist?

I always asked questions and had a thirst for knowledge.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Live, breathe and sleep news. It’s not a 9 to 5 job and you have to be enthusiastic enough to always chase the story.

What's your favorite drink?

Diet Coke, gives me energy when out on stories.
