Steffan Powell’s Biography

BBC Radio 1 and 1 Xtra Newsbeat reporter and presenter.

As a senior broadcast journalist, Steffan covers a wide range of stories. From breaking news and politics, to social affairs, sport and popular culture. Steffan also leads on Newsbeat's coverage of the video games industry.

Steffan co-hosts BBC Wales' new flagship debate television programme The Hour, as well as The Gaming Show and WTF on the BBC Radio 1 iPlayer channel. He is a former BBC Wales investigative reporter.

Steffan is a distinctive and familiar voice on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra and a regular presenter of Newsbeat. He has also presented longer form radio news programmes such as Good Evening Wales (Radio Wales) and Post Cyntaf (Radio Cymru).
