Behind each meal lies an increasingly fragile system, stretched to the brink by funding shortfalls and bureaucratic delays. Today, more than 2 million New Yorkers — including one in five children in New York City — live in homes where it’s not clear when the next meal will be. Demand for food assistance remains 32% higher than before the pandemic.
