URGENT - Respond to the Fracking Consultation
URGENT ACT NOW STOP this Government Fast Tracking a ‘free for all Fracking boom’. The Conservative government is trying to fast-track fracking. The changes, which have been VERY QUIETLY put out to public consultation, mean the advice of local residents would no longer be sought in the early stages of most new oil and gas developments. This is the eleventh consultation on such Draft Rules - just ask yourself, did you hear about the other consultations?
The Labour's Manifesto of my Dreams.
I haven't written for the last 18 months - illness, then post referendum blues and a real loss of vision about what it means to be a modern Briton. I have even asked 'do I want to be English'. However, our Supreme Leader May has now called a snap election, despite promising that there would not be one. And, as a Labour party member I have had an email asking me to say what I would like to see in Labour's Manifesto. My first question is: Do I want a change of Government? YES, I DO.
Standing in Solidarity
I was very pleased to see the USPATH and WPATH statement standing in solidarity with those protesting the violent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Nina Pop, Tony McDade, and many other Black and minority ethnic people. Below, I use the term BAME People to refer to Black and Minority Ethnic people. I believe similar statements to that of UPATH & WPATH are needed from many of WPATH's affiliated groups including CPATH (Canada), (Auspath) Australia, South America and of course the EU.
Chicken Little Tory MP's, Anglican Bishops & Gay Marriages in Church?
This is a message to all Conservative Members of parliament, and all Anglican Bishops and others in the House of Lords, who are opposed to same sex marriage, and/or churches being able to perform the marriages of same sex couples. A simple answer already exists and has been in use in the UK for 8 years now.
The Milk Snatcher's Britain
At this time of our loss, let us mourn; The lost ideals of British socialism, expelled by the dark shades of unfettered capitalism, now watch its ghastly wraiths shackled with bloody monitors, screening the endless news footage of a collapsing society, and the rise of the consumptive individual. Remember, those torn from real work to be condemned to work in retail and those in retail on the now Low streets, condemned to workfare.
Trans People are Still Frightening some Parts of the Nation.
Under the Headline "Fast-track transgender teachers for a £30,000 grant, school heads told" (Monday 7th December 2015) in today's Telegraph, we are told that Schools are being offered £30,000 extra funding to hire and promote gay and transgender teachers.
Discovering a Baby's Gender
How do we Know a Baby's Gender? I am a trans man, and my wife is a trans man's wife - that gives both of us a distinct advantage when thinking about the complexities of sex and gender. My wife is also a Registered General nurse and a Registered Mental Health nurse, so she has seen many baby's being born when training in maternity care, and has nursed people with very different abilities and body shapes.
EVERY PERSON HAS RIGHTS.
EVERY PERSON HAS RIGHTS. I am often seen as being 'Press for Change' - but in fact I am only a grassroots activist like anyone else who volunteers for PFC. However I am also a trained and experience legal academic whose job it is to read case law and legislation and work out exactly what it requires from people.
whittl(e)ings
Hayley Cropper (nee Patterson) Laverne Cox Leslie Feinberg Dr Jay Stewart MBE Last night my daughter sat quietly reading twitter and then burst into tears. She had just read the suicide note of a young trans person from Ohio, Leelah Alcorn, whose parent’s refused to accept that she could be a girl, not a boy, even to the extent of forcing her into ‘Christian’ 'Gay Conversion' / 'Transgender reparative’ Therapy' – which clearly failed.
The Guardian fails to Stand up in the Battle over Transgender Rights
On Friday 4th May 2018, the Guardian newspaper published this The title above the letter says: And yet, the letter does anything but that. Ever since I left home, aged 18 in 1973 I have read the Guardian. I have come to expect the Guardian newspaper to show a modicum of intelligence, some historical awareness and to do basic fact checking.
Today is one of those days - special, yet just the same as ever.
Is 60 the New 40? Sarah says I must not write essays for Facebook. I am apparently meant to be short and pithy. Well in the rest of my life, I am pretty short, and can be occasionally pithy, and even more rarely, witty. However, I have been trained to write 1000 words and no less, on any subject. When I was a brand new wee baby, my mum received a note from a hospital consultant: it said "Your daughter is like a wrinkled old man, and highly unlikely to last 6 months".

2014: The Transgender Warriors and Heroes I wish Leelah Alcorn had known this year.
Hayley Cropper (nee Patterson) Laverne Cox Leslie Feinberg Dr Jay Stewart MBE Last night my daughter sat quietly reading twitter and then burst into tears. GenderQuake: The Diversity Debate Briefing
© Stephen Whittle for Press for Change 7th May 2018 Prior to the Channel 4 Gender quake debate, my friend Kate Bornstein, asked if I would brief Caitlyn Jenner on some of the key issues here in the UK. As such I prepared this briefing for Caitlyn. After speaking to Caitlyn, Channel 4 contacted me and asked me to go to London and take part, as they wanted me to answer a question on the history of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and how attitudes had changed in the UK.
Trans Heritage Exhibition at the National Museum of Liverpool
April Ashley: Portrait of a Lady A new exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool demonstrates, through the story of one life, how much our society has really changed in the last 60 years. In 1950, when 15 year old George Jamieson ran away from the poverty of a Liverpool Council House estate to sea, the city, like the rest of the UK, was place in which boys grew up to be real men, and girls grew up to be housewives.
The Real & Ever-Present Danger
WPATH members know from their direct interactions with our colleagues, patients or clients, and in some cases their own experiences, that more BAME than 'white' trans people continue to be victims of multiple discrimination, prejudice, homelessness, poverty, abuse, and hate crimes. In 2019, according to the Trans Murder Project, 3314 trans and gender diverse people from across the world, were murdered. 148 of these people were in Europe.

Replacement NOW Available for Testogel Sachets
Trans men in Europe who use Testogel for their cross-sex hormone therapy are facing a problem when they ask for their repeat prescription. Testogel in sachets is no longer being made. Instead there is a new product. Almost identical, it is now called Testogel 16.2mg/g The manufacturersBesins Healthcare (UK) Ltd say they informed the NHS of this change in March 2018, but my GP and pharmacist had no awareness of this.
Forget the moral panic-early treatment for trans children could be life-saving
The growth in requests to transition is due to information being more readily available, empowering many young people to recognise what is behind their feelings by Stephen Whittle / March 3, 2020 / Leave a comment Programs like ITV’s Butterfly show how transition can be life-changing. I am a trans man. In 1975, I failed the clinical assessment for cross-sex hormone therapy, and was told I would never be treated.

Eagle comic, Frank Hampson and the world’s best public Dan Dare collection
Dan Dare was ‘conceived’ in Churchtown near Southport – that’s where Frank Hampson’s original studio was, and up until fairly recently there was a museum and art gallery there called the Botanic Garden Museum, which housed a Dan Dare collection. The museum closed about four years ago and we now have the collection and our current display features loan material from the artist’s son Peter Hampson – including a lot of the original studio props that Frank Hampson worked from.
Creating Classes
In this article by William Sherif and Stephen Whittle, authorsof the book Unreal Engine 4 Scripting with C ++ Cookbook, we will discuss about how to create C++ classes and structs that integrate well with the UE4 Blueprints Editor. These classes are graduated versions of the regular C++ classes, and are called UCLASS. Using UCLASS is a great practice. The UCLASS macro, if configured correctly, can possibly make your UCLASS Blueprintable.
The Death of the Inclusive,Tolerant, Trans Community?
I was astonished to discover that those social justice campaigners, Peter Tatchell and Mary Beard, amongst others, had become the latest attack of the twittering trans-sirens. I was astonished to discover that those social justice campaigners, Peter Tatchell and Mary Beard, amongst others, had become the latest attack of the twittering trans-sirens. What have they done?
