An AI Vision, Strategy, Plan & Coach for my Health & Wellbeing
"This isn't healthy eating. It's sensational food that just happens to be healthy." A Coach for My Health & Wellbeing Everyone seems to be selling AI shortcuts these days - prompts, hacks, productivity porn. Honestly, I'd grown cynical. The headlines promised transformation, but the content was flimsy. So, I decided to do the opposite: I built a full AI Life Corporation and appointed a General Manager for Health, Performance & Nutrition.
From Studio to City Hall: Why the New Adelaide University Matters.
Cities change slowly; technology doesn’t. That tension was the thread in a recent conversation I had with Associate Professor Damien Madigan about urban planning, civic leadership, and the role of universities. As the University of Adelaide and UniSA join forces, I want to celebrate what those institutions gave me and make the case for why the new, combined university can (and must) be the trusted mediator our cities need.
Elucidation of the Mechanism of Partial Activation of EPAC1 Allosteric Modulators by Markov StateModelling
Elucidation of the Mechanism of Partial Activation of EPAC1 Allosteric Modulators by Markov StateModelling The development of selective modulators of exchange protein activated by cAMP (EPAC1/RAPGEF3) would pave the way for novel therapeutic interventions in cardiac, metabolic, inflammatory, and oncologic disorders.
Man, Machine & the AI Agent
As part of my ongoing journey into the scary but fascinating world of AI, I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT to boost my productivity, mindfulness, and overall well-being. Like many of you, I’m both excited about the possibilities and mindful of the limitations of weaving artificial intelligence into my daily life. One key observation that guides my approach is the paradox of time: everyone gets 24 hours a day, yet each of us experiences and utilises them differently.
The Urban Legends Debunking Urban Myths
Last week was a bucket list moment for me; I had the honour of presenting at the Australian Local Government National Congress in Canberra.
An urban irrigation revolution - AI and our greener future
Strategic planning is vital for thriving cities that support the critical interplay between people, the environment and built form. To achieve this, we must understand the future and our role in shaping it and think about the future in more critical and sophisticated ways. The realm of possibility is boundless, while the probable we usually trade in is anchored by calculated forecasts shaped by our past experiences and current realities.
Don’t underestimate the LED!
Throughout the history of human innovation, certain technologies have emerged quietly, yet they herald profound shifts in society. Among these, the light-emitting diode (LED) stands out, not merely as a bright beacon of progress, but as a versatile tool poised to redefine our future. With the unassuming LED, we are not just moving to a new era of illumination; we are toying with a technology that is likely to reshape our lives in many meaningful ways.
7 Intelligent Things I Want in my Home
After recently rejuvenating my home with fresh paint, gardening like crazy and soft new carpets, I’ve finally turned my mind to getting my smart home in order. We all have hobbies and I unashamedly want my house to embrace “the possible” by creating a living and working environment that is more like a spaceship than a generic 20th Century home.
Essential Habits of a Futurist
Essential Habits of a Futurist In the digital age, there is no question that living your best life requires foresight and a bit of futurism. While many share lifestyle tips, my journey as a futurist isn’t just about self-promotion or creating content — it’s a personal manifesto, a commitment to who I am and what matters to me. Through this lens, I hope to inspire others to view the future with enlightenment, curiosity, and excitement.
Is AI the new “car”? A once in a century technological urban game changer…
Cities have evolved for thousands of years, but it would be fair to suggest the last 100 years, since the introduction of the car, has resulted in more change than the several centuries before that combined. The car really did reshape how we live and in turn how our modern cities work. Was this a once off phenomenon or is there another technology that will be as big a game changer as the car was to our lives and how cities work?
Vascular smooth muscle cells enhance immune/vascular interplay in a 3-cell model of vascular inflammation - Scientific Reports
Abstract Atherosclerosis is a serious cardiovascular disease that is characterised by the development of atheroma, which are lipid-laden plaques that build up within arterial walls due to chronic inflammatory processes. These lesions are fundamentally attributed to a complex cellular crosstalk between vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), vascular endothelial cells (VECs) and central immune cells, such as macrophages (Mɸs), which promote vascular inflammation.

Abstract In this review, we summarise progress in benzofuran and benzothiophene C−H functionalisations over the past five years, including 1) alkylations, 2) arylations and heteroarylations, 3) carboxylations, carbamoylations and C‐heteroatom bond formations and 4) cyclisations. Abstract Benzofurans and benzothiophenes are important pharmaceutical motifs, appearing in a broad range of small molecule therapeutic classes.
