— 3 min read Photos: Steve Benoit ( @BosConcertPhoto ) Medium Build brought the King of Having Fun tour to Royale on Saturday night, and—true to form—Nick Carpenter was able to make a packed room of strangers feel more like a gathering of long-lost friends. Maybe it's because he produces genre-crossing music that mixes humor and vulnerability in an incredibly relatable way.

Photos | Snacktime @ The Sinclair
— 2 min read Snacktime rolled into the Sinclair on February 5th and immediately turned the place into a party. From the jump, the room was moving with horns blaring, grooves locking in and smiles everywhere. It felt less like a show and more like getting pulled into a block party you didn’t know you needed. Bouncing between funk, soul and hip-hop without ever losing the thread, the Philadelphia septet made themselves right at home in Cambridge.

Photos | Hawk in the Nest @ Club Passim
— 2 min read It was a bone-chillingly cold winter night in Harvard Square last Friday, but if you happened to be one of the lucky few inside the legendary Club Passim for the Hawk in the Nest album release show, your frigid soul was quickly thawed by the warm tones of one of the region's best singer-songwriters. In case you were unaware, Hawk in the Nest is the full-band project of local award-winning singer-songwriter Avi Jacob.

— 2 min read Any show at Billsville House Concerts tends to be one of those shows that stays with you. This past Friday night, Jeffrey Martin and Anna Tivel descended upon the Manchester, VT destination and to say the evening lived up to the hype would be severely selling it short. Truthfully, I'm not sure a more poignant songwriting duo exists on our shared timeline.
