In each organization, the fundamental issues of governance, oversight, and management must be addressed and understood. Give it a Nudge host Steve Grace shares the 10 things he learnt from 100 episodes of his podcast
What a journey it’s been – we’ve just celebrated our 100th episode! We kicked off this podcast at the end of 2020, right in the thick of the pandemic when there wasn’t much else to do. Originally, Give It A Nudge was an idea as a unique recruitment tool – a way to tell the stories of the incredible founders we work with at The Nudge Group. We’ve always believed that effective startup recruitment is about selling the founder first, then the mission and the actual job is the last part.
How Apple taught Sony a critical lesson about disruption - and how to avoid it happening to you
It’s reasonable to imagine that if you’ve grown up in an industry, perhaps worked in one or two companies within it over two or three decades, and been regularly promoted into more senior roles, that you might self-identify as an industry expert. After all, you’ve probably seen it all right? asks Adam Bennett author of Great Change – the WAY to get big strategy done.

However, when it comes to coffee per capita, Scandinavia takes the lead, with Finland, Norway, and Iceland topping the charts, followed by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
The 5am Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life
I’ve read (or listened to) a vast number of books on self-help, business strategy, and biographies, always seeking wisdom to apply to my life. Most offer something, but few grab me like The 5am Club by Robin Sharma. It’s that rare book I can’t wait to return to each time I set it aside. I opted for the Audible version, which fits my mobile lifestyle. A quick tip for fellow listeners: don’t miss the supplemental info sheets that accompany the audiobook – they’re invaluable.
Product Review: Dsmile
The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging. Usually, I’m not big on packaging, but Dsmile emphasises how recyclable it is, which eases my eco-conscious mind. A notable mention: the toothbrush heads are recyclable too. Nice touch! The box surprised me with its contents: a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash concentrate, a mouthwash bottle, and a tray for storage, all in a sleek light grey.
The hidden pitfalls of early-stage startup recruitment
Imagine you are at a point in your career where you have begun to provide significant value to your employer. You could be working in a large, well-known global business with lots of perks, a local corporate with a clear future, or even a fast-growing business that is the latest thing in the news.

Fleming to the fore for Wales
By Steve Grace 31/03/23 Wales’ sparkling inter-play may have caught the eye from an opening 31-5 victory over Ireland in the opening round of the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, but it was the nuts and bolts up front that set Ioan Cunningham’s side on their way. Exeter Chiefs second row Abbie Fleming in particular, was to the fore for the home side at Cardiff Arms Park. She was imperious in the engine room where she claimed eight line-out takes from the darts thrown by hooker Kelsey Jones.

Pandemics, Plans and Expectations
By: Steve Grace Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. — Isaiah 43:18-19 There is an emotional fatigue that we all have experienced as we head into the last months of 2020. It has been a difficult year, one we could not have imagined… and yet here we are still believing things may one day get back to some sense of ‘normal’.
Introducing Fluid Dynamics Engineer
Liquid and gas flows can have profound effects on the performance of designs. The earlier you can understand these effects, the better you can adapt your design to either mitigate or enhance them. For many industries, design is all about maximizing efficient fluid flow for cooling or processing, for others it’s about resisting and controlling the forces generated by the flow.

From Weakness to Strength

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. — Isaiah 40:29-31 It is reassuring to know that in those times when we struggle to see the way ahead, God is there.
