Editorial Assistant in the suburban bureau at a very large daily newspaper

For the first 5 years I was a journalist
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To shine a light on all that is wrong in the world, while finding experts to give us best practices that can right those wrongs.

laptop computer and MS word

Why did you become a journalist?
I'm a storyteller and it paid to be one

An essay on inclusive design
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find a way of earning a living that does not involve working at a newspaper.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In an exotic urban city thousands of miles from home, photographing daily life.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I have a disability, because I write about the topic frequently
