What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a general assignment reporter for the Colorado County Citizen newspaper in Columbus, TX.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means you always have the ability to change perception. Your ability to find out the whole story can give different perspective.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

#ProducerProblems - I always end up seeing one of those hashtags with something totally relatable.

Why did you become a journalist?

I grew up watching a lot of television. I always wanted to emulate how anchors/reporters worked.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Adapt or die. The industry is changing everyday - you need to be able to change with it.
