Steven C. Beer’s Biography

As a partner in the New York City-based entertainment law firm Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell, & Vassallo, PC, attorney Steven C. Beer handles such matters as publishing, intellectual property licensing, and contract negotiations for clients in the music, television, and film industries. He has received selection as a Super Lawyer in the category of Entertainment and Sports every year for the past decade in the Super Lawyers/New York Metro Edition. Among his clientele, Steven C. Beer has represented major film production and distribution companies, mentored top-selling music artists like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, and counseled acclaimed directors and producers.

A noted writer and lecturer on topics ranging from artist empowerment to film production financing, Steven C. Beer has authored articles featured in such publications as the Huffington Post, Indiewire, and the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. In 2015, Skyhorse/Perseus published his book, Your Child’s Career in Music and Entertainment: The Prudent Parent’s Guide from Start to Stardom. Mr. Beer also participates in forums at the Cannes and Tribeca film festivals and facilitates panel discussions organized by the New York State Film Office at the Sundance Film Festival.

Steven C. Beer received a JD from the Villanova University School of Law after serving as a legislative assistant to US Sen. Arlen Spector. He maintains a position on the Rooftop Films board of directors and acts as a trustee and co-chair of the Arts Committee for the City Parks Foundation in New York.
