15 I drive past this house regularly. You can’t really seen much from the street. There was construction there. I notice Zillow says it was bought for $20M last year. I can’t see them getting $32M now. The neighborhood is not pedestrian friendly, but the speed bumps do slow down vehicular traffic. Close enough to the freeway to get highway noise. There’s film and tv crews at various properties along San Raphael often enough that it’s not remarkable.
About the damage to Trump's right ear
October 15, 2025, 5:00pm 1 On the most recent Time Magazine cover they show a most unflattering photo of Trump. In this photo they show his right ear, which show no damage whatsoever. Can a person’s ear recover that fast and that completely after being shot? Even a simple ear piercing leaves a trace of damage long after the fact, and this was no simple ear piercing with a tiny needle. Am I totally wrong about how that ear should actually look after being shot? Educate me, please.

A few days ago, I was exchanging DMs with another poster (they know who they are, but I won’t @ them without their permission!) and we were talking about how it seems everyone was posting less these days. I felt (and they concurred) that a lot of us were emotionally wrung out over the outrages going on in the USA and our limited ability to do anything about them. I know that outside my responsibilities, I have spent less time in P&E as a result.

Your Favourite Retro Video Game (Best For its Time)

It strikes me that given the memory and technological constraints of the time, it is a perfect game. Great story, groundbreaking and widely copied characteristics, amazingly complex, both fun and surprisingly good graphics and sound. (This must have been done before, but my search too is weak, and maybe not recently.) But what is your equivalent?

I have been thinking about what the two parties now stand for, and what the candidates talked about during the campaigns: Kamala Harris - Her policies would run up far less debt than Trump. More free and open trade. More belief in democracy. Still belief in alliances with other democratic nations. Policies targeted assisting small business. Policies to help home-buyers. We believe in vaccines.
My definition of woke
December 8, 2024, 11:31am 1 People keep bugging me to define what ‘woke’ means, but that’s not an easy task. Probably the best definition is to say that ‘woke’ refers to the ideas believed by and spread by the Social Justice movement, and to the societal changes and policies pushed by them. But what is the Social Justice movement? Some history: fifty years after the Civil Rights movement, black Americans were still poorer than white Americans, more likely to be in jail, and in general doing worse.
Why did 45% of Hispanic voters vote for Trump?
3 It’s the same reason why virtually all other groups increased their vote share in favor of Trump: inflation. Rightly or wrongly the American people blamed the Biden/Harris administration for inflation. That same American people had no issue cashing those government checks during the pandemic tho.
