Having flitted about between feature writing, gig and music reviews, news reporting and blogging I have finally embraced the content marketing/brand publishing world
While some journalists see this as turning to the dark side, for me the opposite is true. If anything, the corporate world is becoming more aware of the power of effective and intriguing stories. Rather than turning to the dark side, us writers are slowly turning it light.
Look at any big brand now and you will see a focus on engaging stories, quality content and real narratives which grip the customer. Granted, many of these stories aren't going to bring down any governments, but there is more to the corporate world than writing puff pieces and advertorials.
