Embryonic Exposure to Cigarette Smoke Extract Impedes Skeletal Development and Evokes Craniofacial Defects in Zebrafish
2.3. Both Conventional and Harm-Reduction Tobacco Products Affect Cartilage Formation In both humans and zebrafish, bone is formed by either intramembranous bone formation or endochondral bone formation [22,23]. Endochondral bone formation is the more prevalent of the two and it begins with the formation of a cartilage template that is replaced by osteoprogenitor cells that differentiate into osteocytes within a calcified matrix [24].
Introduction The gradual rollout of fifth-generation (5G) frequencies has spurred increased scrutiny of their potential health effects over the past several years. Radiofrequency radiations (RFRs) emitted from these signals are non-ionizing, but skepticism about their safety remains, partly due to the lack of robust scientific data.

Complex Interplay Among Nuclear Receptor Ligands, Cytosine Methylation, and the Metabolome in Driving Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl)phosphate-Induced Epiboly Defects in Zebrafish
Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl)phosphate (TDCIPP) is a high-production-volume organophosphate flame retardant (OPFR) that induces epiboly defects during zebrafish embryogenesis, leading to the disruption of dorsoventral patterning. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to (1) identify the potential mechanisms involved in TDCIPP-induced epiboly defects and (2) determine whether coexposure to triphenyl phosphate (TPHP)—an OPFR commonly detected with TDCIPP—enhances or mitigates epiboly defects.
Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) Phosphate Exposure During the Early-Blastula Stage Alters the Normal Trajectory of Zebrafish Embryogenesis
Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TDCIPP) is an organophosphate flame retardant used around the world. Within zebrafish, we previously showed that initiation of TDCIPP exposure during cleavage (0.75 h post-fertilization, hpf) results in epiboly disruption at 6 hpf, leading to dorsalized embryos by 24 hpf, a phenotype that mimics the effects of dorsomorphin (DMP), a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist that dorsalizes embryos in the absence of epiboly defects.
