Artificial intelligence for biomarker prediction in gastric cancer: from histopathology to multimodal integration
Abstract Introduction: Gastric cancer (GC) exhibits substantial molecular heterogeneity, necessitating precision oncology approaches. Conventional biomarker assessments, including immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, polymerase chain reaction, and next-generation sequencing, are the diagnostic standard but resource-intensive and may be limited by tissue availability, cost, and turnaround time.
Different associations of atherogenic index of plasma, triglyceride glucose index, and hemoglobin A1C levels with the risk of coronary artery calcification progression according to established diabetes | Cardiovascular Diabetology | Full Text
The mean age of the participants was 51.7 ± 8.5 years, with 10,382 (84.2%) being male. The median follow-up period was 3.0 (2.0 − 5.0) years. Table 1 summarizes the baseline characteristics according to diabetic status. The prevalence of established diabetes was 13.8%. Traditional risk factors, including male sex, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and current smoking, were more prevalent in subjects with diabetes than in those without diabetes.
GalaxyFlow: Upsampling hydrodynamical simulations for realistic mock stellar catalogs
Cosmological N-body simulations of galaxies operate at the level of “star particles” with a mass resolution on the scale of thousands of solar masses. Turning these simulations into stellar mock catalogs requires “upsampling” the star particles into individual stars following the same phase-space density. In this paper, we introduce two new upsampling methods.
Development and validation of a prognostic and predictive 32-gene signature for gastric cancer - Nature Communications
Abstract Genomic profiling can provide prognostic and predictive information to guide clinical care. Biomarkers that reliably predict patient response to chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibition in gastric cancer are lacking. In this retrospective analysis, we use our machine learning algorithm NTriPath to identify a gastric-cancer specific 32-gene signature.
