My first real experience as a journalist wasn’t behind a screen or in a press box—it was at Nandan in Kolkata, during a journalists' meet attended by none other than the late President Pranab Mukherjee. I still remember how surreal it felt. He carried the weight of his office with grace, yet there was a calm humility in the way he engaged with everyone. What stood out most wasn’t just his presence—it was the way he answered every question with patience, precision, and an almost poetic wisdom. It didn’t feel like a press event; it felt like a masterclass in leadership and humility. I even got the chance to interact with him briefly. That moment stayed with me—not because it was my first taste of the field, but because it reminded me why I wanted to be a journalist in the first place: to witness, to question, and to learn.

Social media is changing news by making it faster, more accessible, and more interactive. Stories break in real time, often from eyewitnesses or insiders before traditional outlets catch up. It also shifts power—audiences can shape narratives, fact-check in comments, or amplify underreported issues. But it also means more noise, misinformation, and pressure for speed over accuracy.

It pops up like clockwork every season. One bad trade, a botched bullpen outing, or just a front office that refuses to spend? Boom—#SellTheTeam is trending, usually with a fanbase in full meltdown mode. Whether it's A's fans waving it like a protest banner or Rockies fans tweeting it between innings, it somehow captures rage, comedy, and desperation in just three words. What makes it gold is that it’s not just a hashtag—it’s a mood. A coping mechanism. Baseball therapy through sarcasm.

People always ask me which MLB story I’m most proud of—and honestly, it changes by the week. Some days it’s the emotional piece I did on Jarren Duran opening up about trade rumors. The rawness in his “I’ll break down crying” quote hit differently, and writing it reminded me why I love this job: peeling back the curtain to show the human side of the game. Other days, it’s the chaos-driven stories—like the Blue Jays–Guardians clash that spiraled into a player safety debate, or Aaron Boone lighting a fire under the Yankees while the team crumbled around him. I like writing when baseball gets messy. When clubhouse tensions boil over. When stadium drama meets postseason pressure. That's where the real storytelling happens—at the intersection of sports and emotion.Whether it’s diving into trade deadline strategy, culture shifts, or just a brutally honest player quote that says more than a press release ever could—that’s the zone I live in. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
