Susan Johnston Taylor
VerifiedSusan Johnston Taylor’s Biography
Writing has been my passion since age nine, when I won honorable mention in a Cricket magazine contest for my compelling account of a female stowaway on a pirate ship.
Now I focus on nonfiction writing. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University, I worked in communications for several years while freelancing on the side. More recently, I earned my certificate in Writing for Professional Communication from Emerson College.
As a full-time freelance writer, I’ve found work that lets me apply my childlike curiosity and love of language on a daily basis. I’m drawn to untold stories about regular people doing great things in business or their communities and service pieces that offer new insights on how we live.
My writing appears in national newspapers, trade and custom magazines, blogs, company websites, consumer magazines … one article was even translated into French and Chinese!
In addition to writing articles and marketing materials, I have also contributed to two essay anthologies: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Getting Into College and P.S. What I Didn’t Say: Unsent Letters to Our Female Friends (Seal Press).
I divide my time between Canada and the U.S. and happily write for editors and clients all over the world.
