1 Introduction With an annual production of approximately 125 million tons, ammonia is one of the most synthesized chemicals worldwide [1]. Besides its main usage for the production of fertilizer, it has lately been discussed instead of hydrogen as a candidate for a decentralized storage of energy. This is mainly because of ammonia's higher energy efficiencies and convenient form of storage [2], therefore, being a promising key component for building a nearly complete emission-free energy cycle.
