Integration of Sensors for Enhanced Condition Monitoring in Polymer Gears: A Comparative Study of Acceleration and Temperature Sensors
1. Introduction Gears are one of the most common used machine elements. The wear of gears is highly dependent on the loads, speed and environment it experiences during its life cycle [1]. The geometric changes in the gears due to wear result in a transmission error, which in turn leads to additional transmission losses and noise [2,3,4]. If the machine is not properly maintained, this wear can cause gear failure, a loss of function and further damage to the machine [3].
Thermal Testing and System Reliability: Transferring Thermal Interactions by Heat Conduction through a Peltier-Based Thermal Coupling System
1. Introduction One of the most important key challenges in product engineering is the design of reliable systems [1]. Functional reliability denotes a system’s capacity to meet its intended functionality within specified conditions for a specified period of time [2].

Potenziale und Herausforderungen Energieautonomer Sensorsysteme für den Einsatz in sensorintegrierenden Maschinenelementen
The digitization of the mechanical engineering industry requires a large amount of reliable data on the operational state of a machine or mechanical equipment. In almost every machine or mechanical equipment there are standardized machine elements such as screws, bearings and gears in the immediate vicinity of the process. It makes sense to integrate sensor systems for data acquisition and processing for different process-relevant measuring tasks right there, i.e. "in-situ".
Investigation of Failure Behavior in the Thread Contact of Wood Screws during the Pull-Out Process
Downloaded 0 times Technical Papers Abstract For optimizing wood screws, it is necessary to understand the failure behavior as well as the effect of screw parameters in the thread contact on the withdrawal capacity. The aim of this paper is to investigate the failure behavior of self-tapping wood screws in spruce wood [picea abies (L.)] during the pull-out process.
