Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No

How is social media changing news?

One of the craziest moments of my life involved a story that went viral on Twitter thanks to Chelsea Clinton. Social media spreads news fast!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To spread awareness and help maintain democracy

What's your favorite social network?

Instagram

Who do you wish followed you?

More journalists within architecture, real estate, and the arts.

Why did you become a journalist?

My favorite thing to do in the entire world is interview people about their passions or expertise.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, I was the photo editor for the yearbook! It was very competitive to get into.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

A feature for The Post and Courtier that helped postpone a building demolition.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Morning

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I get bad pitches about home products all the time. I absolutely hate learning about doors, fabrics, or faucets.

What's your favorite drink?

Old fashioned

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Coaching youth lacrosse in New York

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That I enjoy writing about interior design. Architecture is more complex and frankly, important for the environment that pillows.
