What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was writing for my blog, Panic to Picnic.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I used a typewriter a long time ago in Elementary school. My mom owned one. I didn't like it!
How is social media changing news?
Social media is changing the news because most people get their news from social media. A lot of people don't watch standard news anymore.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
My favorite Fictional Journalist is April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist, it means to write for a publication. Simply put.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer personal connections before pitch.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use HubSpot for my CRM, Notion as my workspace, Slack as my communication channel, Calendly to book calls and many more tools.
What's your favorite social network?
My favorite social network is LinkedIn at the moment. It used to be Instagram but I've moved away from it.

I wish that David Bayer followed me. He is an amazing Transformational Coach that I follow on YouTube.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist to share my story and to inspire others to share their stories. Our stories should be told and heard!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I never worked for my high school news paper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The story that I am most proud of writing is sharing my own journey with anxiety in hopes of helping others who could relate to my anxiety.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
To aspiring journalists, I advise them to show up authentically and know their voice. Quality of writing outweighs quantity.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'd say between 10 AM and 1 PM.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
The best pitch I ever got was to be featured in Voyage LA magazine. I recall how excited I was to do my first magazine feature.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
The worst pitch I've ever gotten is someone DMing me "I have a deal going on." I'm not sure what they meant by that or why I should care.
What's your favorite drink?
Narrowing down a favorite drink is tough! I drink mostly water but my favorite drink would have to be orange juice.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
When I am not at my computer, I am most likely spending time with my family. I enjoy getting fresh air outside when the weather is nice.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
My favorite publication to read is probably People Magazine. I read the articles online all the time.
