Thomas Curwen’s Biography
Thomas Curwen is a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times. He has worked as editor-at-large for the Times, served as the editor of the paper’s Outdoor section and was the deputy editor of the Book Review. His “Attacked by a Grizzly” story was a finalist for a 2008 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. He has been honored by Los Angeles Press Club, the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors, and in 2002 he was a recipient of a Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and has a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Southern California.
