The arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy phenotype associated with PKP2 c.1211dup variant - Netherlands Heart Journal
Abstract Background The arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM) phenotype, with life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure, varies according to genetic aetiology. We aimed to characterise the phenotype associated with the variant c.1211dup (p.Val406Serfs*4) in the plakophilin‑2 gene (PKP2) and compare it with previously reported Dutch PKP2 founder variants. Methods Clinical data were collected retrospectively from medical records of 106 PKP2 c.1211dup heterozygous carriers.

Unmasking the molecular link between arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy and Brugada syndrome
Abstract The intercalated discs that connect cardiomyocytes control cell-to-cell adhesion and communication. Several macromolecular structures (desmosomes, fascia adherens junctions, gap junctions, and sodium-channel complexes) coexist in, and confer their mechanical and electrical properties to, the intercalated disc. Traditionally, each structure was assumed to have a unique function in the intercalated disc.
Exploring the affective dimension of teachers' work in alternative school settings
te Riele, K; Mills, M; McGregor, G; Baroutsis, A; (2017) Exploring the affective dimension of teachers' work in alternative school settings. Teaching Education , 28 (1) pp. 56-71. 10.1080/10476210.2016.1238064. The affective dimension of teachers’ work is a vital element in shaping inclusive, child-centred classrooms.
