LG CX to LG G5
I currently have a 55” lg cx and I’m tempted to to by the G5 in same size, I don’t have the room to upgrade to a bigger size. I know the e G5 is super bright and I should notice a big difference here, I’m just wondering how it is In dark room environment as well? I view a lot during the day, but also a lot a lot at night. Also on my CX I used to have an issue with ASBL where the tv would dim over time in moving dark scenes, so I had to go into service menus to disable some things.
GTA V (Upgraded for Series X/S)
#1 Coming March 15th 2021 #2 Free? Or they going to milk GTAV even more. #3 Free? Or they going to milk GTAV even more. "Free for the first 3 months on PS5". Maybe it's the beer thinking here, but it seems a bit vague to me. Is it free for the time stated on PS5 and then you have to pay for it, or do PS5 players have the 3 months to claim it and then get it added to their library to play to their heart's content?
What kind of scam could this be?
TellyTel Distinguished Member #1 A work colleague I know chats to lots of random people on WhatsApp that he has never met. He has set up crypto accounts based on random strangers advice and the latest is one in particular has said they are going to pay their wages into his account. Obviously he has been chatting to these people for a while getting their life story, and its slowly getting very financial. To me it's clearly a scam, and I have told him this.
Which Blu-ray/4k player?
Hi I’m getting back into buying discs, I do love the streaming side of things with my Apple tv4k but I miss having physical discs. Anyway I own an Oppo 203 which is brilliant but the thing is so big, in particular the depth of it in my cabinet, it’s a very tight fit for the power and hdmi cables on the back. I want to move this player elsewhere, so looking for another spinner at a fair price. I’m a bit out the loop with what’s good and what’s not. Needs to be smaller than the 203, (depth) at least.
CODA (Now on Apple TV+)
Drax1 Outstanding Member #1 CODA (Sundance Review), went down in history as the biggest sale in the festival's history. Read our CODA review! www.joblo.com Emelia Jones is a Child Of Deaf Adults (the CODA of the title) and is the only hearing member of her family. They make their living in a fishing boat, but Jones' real passion is singing, but can she leave her family behind?... This has just premiered at Sundance and is now the subject of a bidding war. A Sound of Metal meets A Perfect Storm?
Discussion of our review of Untamed (Netflix) TV Show
#1 Read the Untamed (Netflix) TV Show Review. We take a belated look at this already-renewed Eric Bana hit series for Netflix. My opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of the AV Forums or the associated websites #2 Really enjoyed this, despite the pretty obvious conclusion. The main star though was the scenery, but Bana was good value as I think he always is.

British Steel
MPs are having an emergency debate on the future of the UK's only remaining plant making virgin steel. www.bbc.com So big day for British Steel. I don’t pretend to though a lot about this, but is it just me that thinks a Chinese company that owns British steel and the Chinese themselves produce cheaper steel that’s flooded the market. It feels like this Chinese company is trying to run it into the ground. I mean for them it’s one less competitor.
Amazon Echo Studio (2022) Spatial Audio Smart Speaker Review & Discussion
#2 Nice review thanks. Dumb question, how would you access BBC Sounds with this? It’s for local radio which is being phased out this year on our current Bose Homespeaker. Thanks Martin. Unit, Corps, God and Country #3 I would think twice about anybody thinking about buying a Sonos One instead of this ... or the HomePod. I think there is a strong chance that the Sonos Ones will be phased out soon and the Era 100's taking their place. #4 Nice review thanks.
New pc build mainly for msfs24
Hello Im planning on replacing my xbox series x with a PC, I would be connecting it to an lg cx. I have a spec in mind but Im a little unsure on the motherboard, trying to keep costs low where possible.

You needed it Can't wait to watch this, however I'm gutted there's no big screen offering for it. This is big screen material and would bring in some money for sure. That's for a wider discussion though.
What was your highlight of 2024 on Xbox
How would you lot rate this year for Xbox and your highlight? For me Im having a difficult time thinking of one, so interested on others thoughts, maybe it will jog my bad memory. Looking forward to Indiana next week, I'm just hoping it has a good launch and reviews well. I thought MSFS 2024 would be mine, but its a bit of a let down in its current state.
Hi I can't see a thread on the Z90, Im looking for a 48" oled, and was looking at the LG C4 but then I came across the Z90AEB, its a little more expensive but the appeal for is the sound from this, it looks like it has good sound from reading some reviews, and where its going a soundbar or any other av equipment is not possible, so the tv needs to have fairly decent sound and this looks like it ticks that box.
Help deciding on next ISP
Hi My VM contract is up soon and I would like to move to FTTP. Ive got quite a choice now in my area so it's making things difficult, I was originally looking at BT or Community Fibre, since then Ive realised I can also get Aquiss and Zen. The latter providers get highly rated. The cost factor is not something particularly important, obviously it matters to me if it goes too high but I don't mind paying £50 or so a month compared to the cheaper offers from Community Fibre.
DS Lite
Hi I came across a ds lite at home and was going to give it to charity shop, then I thought about giving it to my young nephew, but I’m looking at some game website and having a hard time finding DS games, found a few on Amazon, but couldn’t find anything on shopto for example. Do they make games for these still?
Recommend me some TV shows on SKY Now please
Hi I've signed up to Sky Now entertainment package, I plan to watch House of the Dragon and Last of Us, could anyone suggest some more good shows on the SKY service. For reference I enjoyed Yellow jackets that I watched a while back on Paramount +, and noticed Sky have that show as well, also watched season 1 of True Detective on Max a while ago which I enjoyed as well. Just need some decent entertainment for my weekend evening viewing.

I like the premise and I like the two leads as well, especially Evans. Could have been a James Bond for me had Craig not bagged the role. Looks like another Apple TV winner anyway. What a shock hey #3 My favourite show of the moment actually.
Foundation (Apple) Season 1 Premiere TV Show Review & Comments
#2 I will check this out myself obviously. I've never read the books — tried once, but found it too dry. But, everything you say here is as I feared from the trailers. Even that brief glimpse had me impressed with the lavish, grandiose stage, but no one on it appeared to have anything to say that might be considered a 'hook'.
RRR (Netflix) Movie Review & Comments

Is Netflix the only place to watch it? Only Netflix in the UK. I can't find it to buy anywhere otherwise it would be an instant purchase for me. #6 Saw Vincent D’Onofrio plugging this on twitter and some of the massive pieces on You Tube but haven’t found the time to watch it yet.

I agree about the picture annoyances and your last sentence sums it up perfectly, for me. Definitely extremely intrigued and hope it lives up to its potential promise. I scored it a high 7 for the first episodes. #3 Thanks Cas - even I might check this out after that.

I am sure it was called The Cursed then but for the life of me I can't remember how I saw it, maybe a "stream" .
Your Most Watched Film
#1 How often do you watch your favourite films? I believe that some people watch their favourites literally hundreds of times but I purposely restrict myself, to keep the films fresh. I think my most watched film would be Disney's 1959 Sleeping Beauty. I watched it as a young lad (aged 7 or 8 maybe) & have watched it quite regularly ever since but even so I doubt I've seen it more than 6 or 7 times. Even most of my Top 10 / Top 100 films won't have been watched more than 3 or 4 times.

Silo Season 1 (Apple TV+) TV Show Review & Comments
#1 Last edited: Jul 10, 2023 Movie Review Co-ordinator The Best Blu-ray and Movie Resource AVForums Movie Reviews Bookmark it now! My opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of the AV Forums or the associated websites #2 I’ve loved the book - actually bookS, the whole trilogy - for many years, and I’m so glad to see it finally visualised in a way that does it justice. Apple really do set the streaming quality benchmark, both in terms of quality of show and PQ, don’t they? #3 Cheers Cas.
Actors/actresses that you’re not sold on?
#1 I’m quite an easy going person and there’s not many stars of the screen profession that I would say I‘m not keen on watching. Some people don’t like Tom Cruise (perhaps more to do with his off screen interests than performances) and there are some who can’t tolerate Tom Hanks as a couple of examples. Ryan Reynolds is another that many cannot stand! However, there is one actor that has become fairly ubiquitous in the last few years and I cannot for the life of me fathom why?
Face/Off Sequel (TBC)
Drax1 Outstanding Member #1 Paramount is in the early stages of putting together a remake of Face/Off. It's a completely different cast from the 1997 action fest which starred Nicholas Cage and John Travolta. It's being scripted by Oren Uziel and David Permit produces. I'm not sure a remake can pull the same quirky premise off twice though. It got a pass from me after using such a preposterous story and it's two leads going ott off the scale (not to mention some fine Woo action).
Lovefilm gone, onto Cinema Paradiso!
daveb975 Distinguished Member #1 I have just got the email I have been dreading for a while, Lovefilm by post will cease on 31st October. Of all of the subscriptions I have, this is the one that I use by far the most and I'll be sad to see it go. I'll be going to Cinema Paradiso, hopefully the lack of competition in this ever shrinking sector will ensure that they last a bit longer! It is still quite a big step up in price from £13.99 to £19.99 a month for the service level that I use.
