Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, I own one my grandmother first owned. I'm very slow in comparison.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means bringing light to information voters need at the polling booth, holding the powerful to account, and telling people's unique stories.

What's your favorite social network?

Instagram because a picture really can be so powerful.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That Washington DC, the east coast in general, is a representation of the whole country.
