Before becoming a journalist, he worked a motely assortment of jobs, including a baker, petrol shop attendant, deli hand, door-to-door salesman, office cleaner, data entry operator, events promotor, web design marketing executive, fashion retailer, and (for a very brief time) research intern to a NSW MP.

When he is not working, reading, writing, editing, or tweeting, John sleeps.
