Black Samurai Yasuke's Story Reportedly All Fabricated By Thomas Lockley
DarXyde7d ago (Edited 7d ago ) Poesneus4g, I don't disagree that there is a lot of sensitivity to this. In fact, that sensitivity is also apparent in the US: remember, you couldn't fly planes in GTA IV. I fully support them hating this game, blasting it to pieces and dunking on Ubisoft. Fully respect that. Shame them as much as you want. But it's the chance of it being banned that I take issue with.

One of the most enduring legends of feudal Japan is the Samurai — warriors of unequaled courage and skill — flashing their swords and leaving carnage as they slash and conquer. These fierce men (and women) spent their lives serving their lords in never-ending warfare. Many readers in the West were introduced to Samurai in James Clavell’s 1975 novel, Shogun, a major bestseller that year.

AFRICAN SAMURAI by Thomas Lockley Geoffrey Girard Read by Gary Furlong | Audiobook Review | AudioFile Magazine
Gary Furlong narrates a vivid biography of the first non-native samurai in feudal Japan, who was also black. Yasuke has achieved almost mythical status in Japan, but he was very much human and flawed. While telling Yasuke's life story, the audiobook covers a staggering amount, including the topics of warfare and politics. Furlong capably imbues the well-researched and detailed biography with respect and awe.
