What was your first job as a journalist?

I worked as a business newscaster for our campus radio station at the Multimedia University of Kenya in Nairobi, Kenya.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No, but I've watched people use it. It seems more hands-on and intense. Would definitely love to try it.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use MeltWater, Vortimo, PyCOORNet, DataWrapper, Flourish, Excel, Gephi, Google Trends, among others.

What's your favorite social network?

Who do you wish followed you?

I would like to connect with anyone with a story idea or a tip worth pursuing. Similarly, I am open to collaborations with any journalist.

Why did you become a journalist?

I have a deep passion for storytelling. I seek to present the most accurate picture of a situation, whether good or bad,

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Vows to Victims, it's a story about how marital rape is somewhat legal in Kenya as there are no laws outlawing the crime.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I am open to pitches at any time. But mostly at night as I am an owl.

What's your favorite drink?

Tea and a cold Fanta.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Taking a walk or listening to music.
