Developments Relating to DACA and TPS
This year there have been several significant developments affecting hundreds of thousands of noncitizens afforded protection from deportation under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Specifically, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California issued a preliminary injunction requiring the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to resume accepting DACA renewal applications.
