Guest Commentary: AI is a necessary part of education’s evolution
As schools across the nation work to support the diverse needs of today’s students, they are increasingly challenged by the limitations of traditional approaches to mental health. U.S. education systems, often constrained by outdated methods, risk falling behind in addressing the psychological needs of our youth. Currently, fewer than half of schools report they can effectively provide mental health services to all the students who need them — and that’s not enough.
How Community Schools Can Improve Their Healthcare Initiatives Original
If you ever visited the nurses’ office or had an eye exam at school as a child, you benefitted from campus healthcare initiatives. Community schools can (and should) go beyond education to serve as critical healthcare providers for students, staff, and their families. Unfortunately, many school districts have been forced to re-evaluate their healthcare options in recent years due to financial challenges, staffing issues, and the general volatility that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aligning Community School District Initiatives with Healthcare
By Thomas Shaffer Public school districts do more than just educate children: they provide resources for the entire community. Many school districts are responsible for connecting families with both physical and mental healthcare options, especially today. However, most public school districts in the United States are also stretched thin in terms of financial resources and staffing. This has made it difficult to implement healthcare and other services that students need.
How Modern Healthcare is Bringing Top-Tier Services Directly to School Campuses
By Thomas Shaffer When most parents think about healthcare for children, they envision sticky waiting rooms, missed work, and frankly, a terribly inconvenient experience. It’s common for the ordeal to eat up two hours out of a busy day—if not more. Prior to the 2010s, and even the 2020s, American healthcare was extremely facility-centric.

Tracking Cardiac Rehabilitation Participation and Completion Among Medicare Beneficiaries to Inform the Efforts of a National Initiative
WHAT IS KNOWN? Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary, evidence-based intervention shown to improve health outcomes and quality of life when used among patients who have had a qualifying heart disease event or procedure. Pictures - LGBTQ lives
I have been a member of the LGBTQ community since moving to California in 2011. I have been an organizer and volunteer for many organizations and events including International Ms. Leather and Folsom Street Fairs' Venus Playground. From my experience of seeing all the good and bad that exists in our community, came my need to inform myself and others on the relevant topics about the Queer world. Topics like Polyamory and queer rights activism light my fire and I hope they light yours.

The occasion for the proposition is when the smalltown southern gentleman-lawyer Atticus Finch is given an opportunity to lie to protect his son from harm. He refuses. He says that the most important thing he has for his son is not protection but integrity. He says, "I can't live one way in town and another way in my home. " The separation of town from home is an old one in the history of lawyers in America.
